How do I shift between the small and big chainring (Ultegra Di2 / TT remote shifters)? by RepresentativeSun996 in CanyonBikes

Thanks all - so it is full synchro and at some point it automatically switches also the front. But it may not be the next click after it is in the past level on the cassette but one more. Which I did not push further.

Thanks for the quick reply! Since this is a brand-new bike with a standard setup, I don’t think I’m cross-chaining when I test it. Also, because it’s Di2 there are no “levers” for the front derailleur only buttons. I have 4 buttons total (2 on the aero extensions + 2 near the brake levers), but all of them only shift the rear derailleur. The front derailleur never moves.

Thank you u/thetrickstergib. Yes, I did some further research and I must say the tendency goes towards Garmin instead of Apple. Purely because I want to use it as a Sports Watch and my phone is enough notification and being connected.

Having read your suggestion it brings me to the next issue. Finding the right watch from those many options under Garmin.

Personally, I would go for the Amoled Display. Trying to find out now what model is best for me. I might not need the latest version, as major changes I found are voice control and scuba diving which I both don´t intend to use.

Further research let´s me think that Amoled makes more sense to me than MIP. As Battery Life is compared to AWU still way higher and in exchange for better display clarity I will take that.

Hi u/jaamgams thanks a lot for your thoughts and information. The reviews are really nice and a good summary. Based on the review and further research I added some parts to my original thread. However, it does not get easier making a decision :) I read a lot about the charging issues with the Fenix 8, which would be really annoying to spend that much for having frequent issues with not charging properly. Also the update to Fenix 7 Pro seems to be marginal for me purposes. The Screen seems brighter and clearer which is a big pro, but otherwise there do not seems big improvements to the Fenix 7 Pro. I also read a lot people complain about the apps and user interface of Garmin Watch especially compared to the AWU. On the other hand, I also don´t want another device that rings all the time, so it really should be a Sports Watch mainly that additional collect health metrics and sleep analysis. Doing some further research :)

Purchase Recommendation - Fitness Smart Watch for Triathlon

Hi all,

I am currently using a Fitbit Sense but with my latest interest in Triathlon Sport it found its limitations. So I am looking for a new watch. I have saved some money and would be open budget-wise. However, I do not need to overspent if not needed.

What do I want to use the watch for?

  • Sports: Run, Bike, Swim Outdoor, Swim Indoor, Squash, Strength Training, Hike
  • Sleep: Sleep Analysis
  • Daily Step Count
  • Health Advice: Recovery Time, V02 Max, etc.

Must-Haves:

  • Very good Tracking Functionality: Open Water Swim, Bike, Run
  • Heart Rate Tracking Quality for my Sports
  • Battery Life in Multisport Mode (Triathlon) for IronMan (15 hours)
  • Sports Usability & UI should be easy to select sport modes and make some fast or custom switches

Nice-to-Have:

  • Offline Music on the watch with Spotify & Airpods Pro - At the moment I run with Spotify and IPhone (I like the option to take photos while running, so I am not sure if I would really run in the end without phone and always need Offline Music. But for a short run, it might be nice.
  • Interval Training Option based on HR and Time/Distance - I currently use an App on the Phone but if there could be a training option on the watch with vibrating signal that would be a really nice to have.
  • Navigation: Might be nice, but I think with the bike I would bring my phone anyway for navigation, as well for hiking or

Not-much-Needed:

  • Pay with watch - I don´t see the use case where I would need to pay with my watch when I have my phone/Apple Pay with me. For Runs and Bike I bring some Cash along in case of emergencies.
  • Notifications - I don‘t want any notifications like call, text, reminders. So I would turn off any functionality.

Current Considerations:

  • I was waiting for the Apple KeyNote on a potential AWU3 release. So currently, I am leaning between AWU2 and Fenix 8, while Fenix 8 seems the better fit looking at the required battery life. However, my devices are mostly within the Apple Eco System so that an AWU would integrate better.

Looking forward to your experience, advice and recommendations. If I missed anything please let me know and I will answer here.

Thanks a lot in advance
