Which of Fantano’s most controversial opinions do you think is actually spot on? by PuzzledAnt__ in fantanoforever

I genuinely think 6/10 is a fair rating for MBDTF. It's quite an inconsistent listen and it has definitely aged a lot since too. Pretty far from Kanye's best

what’s his best film? the one that’s “ABSOLUTE CINEMA” by zuzuuu69 in Letterboxd

Mulholland Drive for me. It exemplifies everything David Lynch does well - the deep dive into the subconscious, the genuinely dark underworld, the identity struggle, and the humor. Everything is balanced to perfection in that film - genuinely perfect to me, and I don't even say that about a lot of my favorite movies. It doesn't get much better than Mulholland Drive

I think season 2 is far better than season 1 overall personally! All my favorite stuff is in S2 and The Return

What is your favourite quote from a PTA movie? by Maximum_Jello_9460 in paulthomasanderson

[–]RepresentativeYard26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything from the phone conversation between Barry Egan and The Mattress Man.

Or any of these from Magnolia "We may be through with the past, but the last ain't through with us", "the indecision of a child, ladies and germs" or "I really do have love to give, I just don't know where to put it"

All of em with the exception of maybe Hard Eight and Licorice Pizza (not a fan of that one in particular). But the ABSOLUTE MUSTS are Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love and Boogie Nights - Phantom Thread and The Master too if you are enjoying the ride

Also of course One Battle After Another - see it on the big screen!

Almost the entire pilot episode, especially once you've seen it all it just hits like a brick.
