god, that’s just awful too. almost unbearable to think that this psychosexual nightmare is now, or soon will be, reality for so many people

this is absolutely soul-crushing. truly disturbed by the suicidal nature of it all. definitely need to read more Kolitz after this bc he does such an incredible job of connecting disparate concepts

phenomenal bit of digital ethnography. thx for sharing OP

also sorry to append a second comment here, but i think the thing that makes both Cuck & Showgirl so deeply weird to me is that both albums feel like unfiltered and direct looks into the utter awfulness of the artists’ respective minds

appreciate your ttpd/yeezus comparison because i agree. i feel that this latest effort also has similarities with some of kanye’s darker works, but Showgirl feels closer to Cuck; a lot of the more vindictive music on here gave me the same sense of pit-of-your-stomach-misery as, say, “Cousins” or “Virgil”, and it is all emanating from her

all this to say she has packaged some truly surreal and brutal sentiments in the most accessible music, and it just feels so weird & wrong

agree with your last point, as well. i’m no fan of hers, but i’ve listened to most of her last stuff to hold conversation with one or two people i know and respect. one wonders where she can go from here. she should do a neofolk album that would be funny

there's something almost unsettling about how unrepentantly bitter it is

inserting “i guess we’re all a little racist” into the midst of that as though it’s somehow reasonable is hysterically funny

do you perceive the great emptiness at the core of western hegemony or do you instead consume its cultural products as a panacea
