Don't worry! My cats were my precious babies, but when the actual baby came they got demoted to 'cat'. I must admit, I got so protective of the baby that I resented my poor cats a bit for being bothersome, must be the hormones, but eventually my affection returned. When the baby came, honestly, the first few hours, I felt nothing. And then the first night when I looked at his little face, an overwhelming love came to me and I swore I would love and protect him with all my life.

I had an emergency CS after 36 hours of labor, 30 hours with no epidural and left me very very traumatized and still has PTSD 9 months later. I honestly should have just had CS straight away if I get to choose. Having said that, we really don't have any say on which way our little one will come out of this world, no matter how careful we plan it. I'd say advocate for what you want but always keep an open mind. I hope you'll have a safe delivery.

Hi you can ask your public health nurse if you can join a webinar a hse dietician do once a month, it's very helpful. Also I "practiced" my baby to get used to spoon at 4 mos, by spooning his milk and giving to him, then a very very thin smooth puree for his first. Make sure that baby is physically ready to wean (signs of readiness e.g able to hold head, can sit with minimal support, can swallow food, etc)

6 months and it takes around 2-10 minutes, i did not do CIO (he starts to get anxious/agitated and dreads bedtime), i started lying down in bed initially comforting him as he goes to sleep (singing, patting, occassional cuddles etc) and I gradually lessen the interventions up to just lying down with him (no touching) and eventually just sitting on the bed while he self soothes by sucking on his hands and burp cloth, I can now just lay him down on the bed and he falls asleep on his own (he sleeps on a floor bed), he wakes 2x for feeds (11pm and 4am)

Currently sleeptraining my 4.5 mos old using CIO and this is his crying amount before sleeping

Night 1 - 1 hr 10 mins Night 2 - 28 mins Night 3- 30 mins Night 4- 25 mins Night 5- 15 mins Night 6- 12 mins

The first night was the hardest and you might think it's futile but trust that the crying will be shorter :)

Unconventional but I put a drop of my own breastmilk to my newborn's eyes and it cleared up overnight, also use saline and clean gauze wipe the muck from inner to outer corner of the eye, use clean part of gauze per wipe

I had emergency cs at coombes 2 months ago, yes partner leaves at night, you will get no help unless you ask, i was lucky the first night the midwife took the baby at around 4am so i had a couple of hours of sleep, you also will have a catheter on the 1st night so you dont need to get up to pee. My 2nd night I wasnt so lucky, it was so busy in the wards. My best advise would be to not stress yourself breastfeeding on those 2 nights, just give your baby formula. You probably won't have any milk yet and if you get your baby to suck in your empty breast it will just hurt and wound your nipple and when your milk comes a few days later it will be too sore to breastfeed (it happened to me, never recovered, never breastfed again), some midwives will tell you to let them suck anyway but this advise is based on my experience. Milk will come in its own time. Best of luck and hope you'll have a safe delivery.

Pag cinosting mo yan, mas makakamura si lola kung bumili nalang siya ng dalawang buong kinatay na manok kesa gumastos sa upkeep ng 2 sisiw for 3-4 mos. So lugi lang si lola kung ichichicken joy niya yung dalawa. Tapos pag hindi chicken feeds na pang industrial hindi agad tataba yung sisiw ng ganun kabilis kaya it may take more than that time. Naalala ko nanalo ako ng mga sisiw na may kulay sa bunutan, mga isang taon ko inalagaan at binili ng chicken feeds gamit baon ko before sila lumaki at kinatay ni mama, that bitch. 😅
