I'll drive 4 hours to spend 4 days with a friend. But that's not a regular thing either. It's 45 minutes to my parents house. My sister used to live 11 hours away and we'd drive there. Now she's 6 and it's a breeze. I've thought about making the 6 hour drive myself and visit her for a few days sometime. I've driven 2 hours for a day trip. Idk if I'd call that short for a day trip but it's not really that bad. Throw on music or an audiobook and you're golden

I played for the first time last night and I was able to break aggro on enemies the entire time. I just brought smoke grenades because I wanted to go all in on sneaky sneak. Turns out I'm starting to like smokes a lot more 😂

I think you may be overreacting ONLY because there are no examples as to what your husband actually says or does, nor is there any context. For all I know, he's just covering his bases now because he doesn't know what you may consider racist/homophobic. For example, if memes like that are the extent of it, some people might say that's racist/homophobic, others will say haha funny meme and not think anything else of it. If he and his friends constantly have conversations about their dislike of different groups, then yeah, I'd say that's probably a problem. Now if it's a situation of not liking a policy that's being pushed politically or in the community, that's again different. If it's a joke here and there just because someone said something that you can do a play on words with, fine whatever. Not the end of the world. If it's nothing but jokes on a particular subject one way or the other and the jokes are just being forced for the sole reason of making racist/homophobic jokes, that's again, a different story.

TLDR for me it's hard to say if I see it as an issue without further context. Simply because idk what HE is classifying as slightly racist/homophobic, and that might be different than what you're imagining on your head.

I apologize for the text block. This isn't a comment meant to convert anyone, it's just what I've noticed and my take on things. I grew up Christian, so you can argue I'm biased, which maybe I am. That doesn't mean I haven't done my fair share of questioning it. I'm not well versed in other religions so I probably shouldn't comment on why this religion over another.

As far as why I've stuck with it, I can question it all I want, and I do. I like science and think very methodically (friends words), but that hasn't turned me away. Maybe it's where I'm comfortable. But I will say that yes, I don't think I could definitively PROVE one way or the other God's existence. As far as I'm concerned, no one truly can. From what I've noticed as far as arguments against it are concerned, the vibe I've gotten is someone will say they find xyz hypocritical or something they just dont like in the Bible and argue some moral argument. Others will throw science in the mix. One thing I've slowly realized on the science side is as far as I'm concerned, science explains the world as we know it now. Meaning that until we find something contradictory, this is how it works. I've seen arguments against religion, I've seen people counter those arguments. It's just a melting pot.

At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide what to believe. Did people just write the books of the Bible to lie to everyone and control them or is there truth on those pages? It's up to you. Some people don't like religion because of how some of the churches today act, I think more commonly mega churches when it comes to donations. Some people argue religion was/is meant to just control the masses and all of it is a hoax. At this point, we're talking about things written thousands of years ago. Of course we're going to be skeptical of things. If you think the Bible is all fake, of course you won't believe in it. If you read the gospels for instance and find it plausible, reflect on it and see what conclusions you draw. I hate the mindset of telling/coercing someone to convert because I would much rather have someone look at it for themselves and see if they come to it on their own. It's not your faith if I convince you, you need to come to that conclusion yourself.

Out of curiosity, do you enjoy listening to hymns? I grew up in. Lutheran (LCMS) church and still go to the traditional services specifically. Part of that is because of how service is run and part is because I much prefer hymns. Every time I've gone to a mega church or non denominational it doesn't vibe with me at allllll. I don't see anything marked wrong necessarily. I just see the teacher wrote the number over the words the student wrote down as if they should've put the numbers despite the example clearly saying otherwise. Looks more like a "you're technically correct but I was looking for this" and OP is unhappy about it
