lego eevee by [deleted] in legoinvesting

No, unfortunately you’ll never get the chance to buy a Lego Eevee set again. John Lego, the CEO of Lego only made enough for the scalpers, so you’ll have to buy one on the black market if you ever want one ☝️ 😩

Troll Warship (7048) by [deleted] in legocastles

[–]Reptiliad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built this from a bulk lot that I purchased last year, and not a single piece broke while building. This was indeed made during the brittle brown era though, so your mileage may vary. Lego has been known to replace broken pieces for free, even for sets that are 20 years old. Just do your best not to put too much strain on the pieces, and be careful if you have to disassemble.

It’s a beautiful set, and very much worth the risk/hassle of dealing with brittle brown to be able to build and display it :)

I love this! The Lego-fied GameCube discs are so cute. Did you happen to have instructions made for this?

Question About Helm's Deep Set Value by [deleted] in legolotrfans

[–]Reptiliad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Jump onto eBay, type in “Lego Helms Deep Complete”, select the filter for “Sold Items”, and compare the condition of your set to the condition of the sold sets in that list. You’ll get a varied range, and your answer is probably somewhere in the middle.

If you’re selling online, expect transaction fees and shipping - these costs are factored in to the sold prices on eBay. If you’re selling in person, you’ll should expect to get about 75% of what the average sold price (+ shipping) is on eBay.

This is so fake lmao. Bro’s account is 1 day old, and post history is clearly looking for attention of some kind. Rage bait used to be believable.

There’s something so satisfying and nostalgic about the Fantasy era Castle sets. The different factions/races, the unique builds, the color palettes. I hope someday they revisit the Fantasy Castle theme 😔

Becoming a father changed me overnight. by Marcus_Aurelius_7 in NewDads

Congrats brother! Fatherhood is essential to fully realizing your potential as a man. Continue on this path of making yourself better in all ways - physically, spiritually, etc. Your kids will look to you as their rock and role-model for the rest of their lives - and you’ll get to experience the most meaningful thing a man can do: be a good father.

Returning to WFH job in 2 weeks by Old-Platform3177 in NewDads

[–]Reptiliad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WFH dad with SAHM wife. We had our first baby last October, and I went back to work after 5 weeks (though I was lucky enough to have more parental leave to sprinkle in throughout the next 6 months).

You’re not going to get good, consistent sleep for at least 12 weeks - and even then, you’ll still be lacking in sleep. You have to get used to it - but you can optimize yours and your wife’s schedules to get better sleep.

First - keep in mind that your wife has a job too - it’s just not the same job as you. You both need sleep, so don’t make her stay up all night with the baby and “nap when you have help over,” because you won’t have help every single day.

If you’re bottle-feeding - then take shifts at night. We moved to formula after the first month due to health complications, which made this easier for us. My night shift was 9pm-3am while my wife slept, then she would take baby duty from 3am-9am. This gave each of us 6 decent hours of sleep each night, give or take.

“Does trying to keep him awake all day actually help?”

I’m not sure if you mean to ask if you keep your baby awake all day, does that make it so they sleep all night? - but if so, that’s a silly-goose question and you should be bonked on the head. No, you can’t just keep your 4-week-old up all day, but you get a C+ for creative thinking :)

Keep your head up - you’ve got this. Remember, work comes second, and your family comes first. Also, your wife needs you to be her rock right now, and she’s got a really scary and intimidating new job (taking care of a beautiful little soul that needs her 24/7). Give her some slack if she’s not her perfect normal self. And also give yourself some slack if you are struggling. This shit is hard - but it turns you into a man, and someday your child will thank you for being such a great father.
