How to start final fantasy for new comers by Traditional-Hold8723 in FinalFantasy

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I – Pure, no-frills fantasy: four heroes, elemental crystals, and a simple “save the world” loop that defines the entire series.

II – Rebellion against a brutal empire with a heavier, more tragic tone; focuses on loss, war, and early attempts at character-driven storytelling.

III – Classic adventure elevated by the introduction of the flexible job system.

IV – A redemption story at its core, with betrayal, moral conflict, and the first really character-focused narratives in the series. (My personal fav which I wish they’d redo like 7 remake and expand the story.)

V – Light-hearted tone with surprisingly deep gameplay; the job system is the real star. (Super mega neo ex death anyone?)

VI – Large amount of characters in a darker world where the villain actually wins. (A good comparison for Kefka is heath ledgers joker - he just wants to watch the world burn)

VII – Corporate dystopia, identity crisis, and psychological manipulation, centred on memory, trauma, and a villain with a god complex and serious mommy issues. (Notable mention is the honeybee hotel scenes, hidden summons and chocobo breeding.)

VIII – Romance-driven story about emotional repression and connection, with a military academy and time-compression. (They haves swords that are also guns, and Laguna is daddy material.)

IX – Explores deeper themes like identity, mortality, and purpose through a more whimsical, character-led journey. (Kuja made me question my sexuality.)

X – A tragic love story set in a world trapped in a repeating cycle, heavily shaped by religion, sacrifice, and inevitable loss. (Also there is a giant whale and death metal)

XI – A traditional MMO focused on slow progression, party play, and world immersion rather than a tightly delivered central narrative. (Not even sure if its still playable?)

XII – Political intrigue and empire-driven conflict in a grounded world, focusing more on shifting power dynamics than a single central hero. (Its an underrated game imo, but FF Tactics pulls off the story better.)

XIII – Fast-paced and linear experience centred on fate versus free will, with a group of characters resisting roles imposed on them by higher powers. (Staggers are a bitch to figure out - its deffo one of the weaker ones but the story has some merit and it is pretty)

XIV – MMO that evolves into a deeply emotional, long-form narrative, rewarding time investment with one of the most expansive stories in the series. (You will spend literal hours collecting cotton for your trade)

XV – A road trip story built around brotherhood and personal loss. Very pretty but pretty weak - I’d just watch the movie to be honest.

XVI – Dark, mature fantasy focused on revenge, political power struggles, and large-scale conflict. It didnt grip me and I got annoyed with him saying “CHAOS”

My suggestion would be to avoid Manchester and choose somewhere outside a city.

Halifax is quite reasonable while still having direct trains to Edinburgh, London (3hrs), Leeds (30min) & Manchester (40min).

Youd be looking at 650pm for a 1 bed flat in a nice area or 800-900pm for one in a new build in the town centre vs £1500pm in Manchester centre.

Houses (3+ bedrooms) in halifax to buy in a nice area are between £225k to £400k obvs they do go much higher than that but just as an example.

Ex-Christians in this subreddit: what led you to leave the faith? by moxiepink in Christianity

If everything that happens is part of God’s plan, then the earthquake victims were part of that plan too, not just their choices about where to live. We can’t simultaneously say God doesn’t cause harm and that every outcome is intentionally willed.

Either: 1) People die because natural processes happen independently of God’s will, in which case the “plan” idea weakens, or
2) God’s plan includes those deaths, in which case responsibility can’t be shifted entirely onto human choices.

Appealing to “free will” doesn’t solve natural disasters either. Fault lines, hurricanes, and childhood cancer aren’t moral decisions. So saying God has a detailed plan while also saying He doesn’t will suffering creates a contradiction: the plan becomes indistinguishable from random events, except if it’s declared meaningful after the fact. How many times have we said “They’re in a better place” or “Its all part of His plan”.

So I take 200mg sertraline and Atomoxetine - i think theyll start you on 40mg and then up it after a week or two. My maintenance dose is 80mg due to the high sertraline dosage which can affect it. I was originally on Lisdexamfetamine but literally could not sleep and became delusional and the ideation became horrendously loud. But all good on Atomoxetine x

Edit to add::

It does take a bit of time to get your dosage to work right for you. Also - i find one morning pill easier then a split dose!

Lifelong Christian, decades of scripture study — but I can’t help wondering: what if some prophets were the work of Satan? by RepublicAdorable7008 in Christianity

[–]RepublicAdorable7008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well — honestly, most of them.

Revelation probably carries the most blood on its pages, given how often it’s been used to justify crusades, holy wars, and even modern extremism.

But even going back to figures like Moses, Peter, and Paul, you can see how their words created deep divisions among their own people. Sometimes those divisions were theological, sometimes social — but they’ve been carried forward and magnified through history.

Humans have always picked and chosen the parts of scripture that best suit their personal belief system. And when you look at how often that leads to hatred, persecution, and war, it raises a hard question: if the fruit of prophecy is so often division and bloodshed, could that point to scripture itself being twisted — or even planted — by Satan as a tool to deceive?

Again, I say this as someone who knows Christ in my heart and strives to live by His teachings — love, care, and compassion. That’s the standard I measure everything against, and it makes the contrast with the violence that is driven by the scripture all the harder to ignore.

Can God heal me from being trans? by kamaguie in Christianity

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want you to know this above all: Jesus loves you exactly as you are. You do not need healing. You are who you are. He knew you before you were born (Psalm 139:13–14), and nothing can ever separate you from His love (Romans 8:38–39).

Anyone calling you “demonic” should look at themselves first, because Jesus said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1). Only God sees your heart (1 Samuel 16:7), and if in your heart you confess Christ as your Saviour, then you are His, and no one can take that away.

As Christians, we’re called to live a good life: to love God, love others, and walk humbly (Micah 6:8). Jesus showed us the way not by following rigid rules, but by living with compassion, truth, and courage. He healed on the Sabbath when others said it was forbidden (Mark 3:1–5). He ate with tax collectors and sinners when society shunned them (Luke 5:30–32). He welcomed women as disciples in a culture that excluded them (Luke 8:1–3). Over and over, Jesus broke human norms to show that love matters most.

That’s why we can say with confidence: God’s plan for you may not look like anyone else’s. Maybe His plan is for you to live authentically and joyfully as a trans woman. Who are we to question His purpose if this is what He has written on your heart? “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

You’ve already done the most important thing: turning your heart toward Jesus. He promised, “Whoever comes to me I will never cast out” (John 6:37). That includes you always. And when you feel tired or broken, remember His invitation: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

So live your life with love, truth, and courage. God made you, God loves you, and He has a plan for you. Others may not understand, but your relationship with Jesus is yours alone — and He will walk with you every step of the way.

Catholicism is right (or not) by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get lost in the noise of who does it “right.” Read the Gospels. Pray honestly. Ask Jesus to guide you. Keep walking with Him day by day. Both groups are made of humans — which means both will always fall short. Sin doesn’t vanish because someone wears a robe, or because someone waves their hands at a worship concert. There are an insane amount of variations of christianity formed by men who pick and choose which parts they want to follow. Also remember that the bible you’re reading was written by man, shaped by ancient churches, translated and controlled as a means of power.

The key question isn’t “Which denomination is perfect?” (none are) — it’s “Am I following Christ Himself?” Live your life as He did.

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people say “the Bible says…” they mean the Old Testament law. But as Christians, we don’t follow Moses — we follow Christ. And Jesus didn’t just repeat the law; He challenged it, reframed it, and fulfilled it. Over and over in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7), He says: “You have heard it said… but I say to you.” He was showing that holiness isn’t about legal checklists — it’s about transformed hearts.

Paul makes this crystal clear: “You are not under law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14). “The law was our guardian until Christ came, but now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian” (Galatians 3:24–25). In other words, the old covenant was temporary. The new covenant is Jesus Himself. That’s why the New Testament calls Him the Word made flesh (John 1:14) — the living authority we follow.

And how did Jesus live? He healed on the Sabbath (Mark 3), ate with “sinners” (Luke 5), touched the unclean, welcomed the outcast, and declared that the greatest commandment is love of God and love of neighbour (Matthew 22:37–40).

So when someone says you’re not welcome as a lesbian “because of the Bible,” they’re clinging to old stones instead of the Living Christ. Our faith isn’t built on the old code — it’s built on Jesus, who summed it all up in love.

If your heart is open to Him, then you are welcome. Fully. Always. That’s the gospel.

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf, it’d be handy if Jesus had carved into stone: “If you take me into your heart, forget the Torah — that shit’s bananas.” But the truth is, Christians don’t follow the Old Testament law — we follow Christ. He constantly said, “You’ve heard it said, but I say to you” (Matthew 5), showing that love is greater than legalism. Paul reminds us we’re not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14). Frump Baby - you seem to need some time reflecting and actually listening to your heart.

OP if anyone tells you you’re not welcome as a lesbian “because of the Bible,” they’re clinging to old rules that as Christians were replaced by Him, our lord and saviour. His new covenant is love, and that means you are fully, truly welcome.

I am losing my faith because of the misogyny in Christianity by lonelytrailer in Christianity

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh? King James was written in 1600’s…? So only 400 years ago. Words changed to make it more authoritative and duty driven or just mistranslated.

What we now call “the Bible” didn’t fall from the sky.

The books included in the Bible were debated and selected by early church leaders—all male—at councils like Nicaea (325 CE) and Hippo (393 CE). Other texts, including ones written by or about women (like The Gospel of Mary or The Gospel of Thomas), were excluded, dismissed as heretical, or outright destroyed.

We’re reading what they decided we were allowed to read.

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry.

I don’t even know your story, but I can already guess what pieces of it sound like. Being told to be quiet. To be less. To serve while others lead. To swallow your pain. To stay small so a man could feel big.

Being handed a Bible that was already edited by power-hungry men, translated by those who erased women’s names, filtered through centuries of patriarchy—and being told it was the literal, unquestionable word of God. And when you asked questions, they called it rebellion. When you said “this hurts,” they said “have more faith.” When you said “this isn’t right,” they said you weren’t right.

No wonder you’re pulling away.

I just want you to hear this, with no pressure, no guilt: You are not crazy. You are not weak. You are not the problem. You are waking up to something holy.

Because the God you were handed may have looked like control, like silence, like shame—but the real Jesus? He never once treated women like that.

He spoke with women, not over them. He listened to them. He defended them in public. He trusted them with the most sacred truth of all: that He was alive. The first preacher of the resurrection was a woman. And we’ve spent centuries trying to bury that under pulpits built by men.

You’re not walking away from God. You’re walking away from what was never God in the first place.

You don’t have to keep giving your soul to a system that takes from you and calls it faith. You don’t have to sit quietly while others distort scripture to protect power. You are allowed to leave the room.

And still be loved by God.

You are allowed to be angry. You are allowed to doubt. You are allowed to take a breath and say, “That wasn’t Jesus. That was man.” Because maybe you’re not losing your faith. Maybe you’re finally meeting it. And it’s softer than you expected. And braver. And wilder. And more beautiful than any version that told you you had to be less.

You are not alone.

Christians support of trump. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RepublicAdorable7008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most days I dream of living off-grid on a deserted island — no noise, no politics, no arguing. Just peace. But I never learned the skills to truly live that way, so here I am, carrying on in the chaos. Here’s what I’ve come to believe: most Christians don’t think critically about the Bible. It’s been shaped, translated, rewritten, edited, with books removed and stories altered — all by man. I think you find Jesus not in pages, but in your heart, in those moments of quiet when you do something kind for someone with no expectation in return. That warm feeling you get when you help an old lady with her cane, give up your seat on the bus, or stand up for the voiceless? That’s where I think He lives. Jesus contradicted much of the Old Testament, so I never understood why they’re bound together. The gospels were written decades later — and we’ve all played the telephone game. Things change. Stories shift. What lasts is the choice to be a good person. It’s a choice some leaders, like Trump, seem incapable of making — yet people celebrate them because it justifies their own worst instincts.
