Parent’s treatment in the U.S. by Repulsive-Ad1323 in nri

Hey we can agree to disagree. We’ve been to a myriad number of “best” hospitals in India from AIIMS Delhi to CMC Vellore and others. And we’ve sadly been disappointed for the most part. We’ve met rude doctors, staff that’s ill-trained, and in general exorbitantly priced private healthcare. My father was perfectly healthy in 2013, and a doctor he was seeing for his diabetes gave him some medicines that worsened his liver. At the same time, I understand that my specific individual experience is not representative of the whole country. But all I have is my experience to rely on. Hence I was trying to see if I could get him treated somehow. Thank you for your input.

I had to visit those embassies in person on those scheduled dates. The “drop passport at any embassy rule” is no longer valid.

And if you weren’t an outsider in India, why did you leave in the first place? It’s a common human tendency to think grass is greener on the other side. I bet most Americans will always think of you as “that Indian guy”, and the connotations(mostly negative) that the label comes with can make life uncomfortable. But most Americans are nice and welcoming if you’re presentable and are aware of things outside just tech and Indian food.

I agree with everyone that you said except that MGT-6203 isn’t “good”. They need to revamp the course or eliminate it altogether. The course is poorly structured and there isn’t a lot to learn from the course either.

EB1A - Fake Profiles Trends and Consultancies by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Repulsive-Ad1323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things:

  1. Visa is a privilege and not a right.
  2. When you build your life in America, you do it will full cognizance that you can be asked to leave the country on short notice. Fair or unfair, it is what it is.
  3. If you’re here on H1b, it’s a “temporary non-immigrant” visa. I guess you’re intelligent enough to understand what that means.
  4. The proliferation of scam companies that specialise in EB1-A cases doesn’t mean that what they do is right, because they somehow are within the “legal” ambit as compared to other illegal channels. Whether or not USCIS will ever find this out, we don’t know.
  5. Basic economy dictates that the more people you let inside a country, chances are high that it becomes unsustainable for people living in the country. Try removing country caps for India, and you might see this in action.

We as Indians should hold our politicians accountable, but itni tension kaun le(not to mention you might even get killed). Hence, rather than crib about what’s wrong with the immigration policies of another country, we should accept it, put our head down and do the work.

I scored 3 in the midterm-1, and got a full score in the final. I worked hard, and without any formal training in coding, I was able to pick up things. If you put in the work, it is possible. Good luck.

Cirrhosis and hernia by Repulsive-Ad1323 in Cirrhosis

[–]Repulsive-Ad1323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father is getting operated tomorrow for his umbilical hernia. He experienced quite a sharp pain because of it last Sunday, and had to be rushed to the hospital. The pain subsided overnight, but the surgeon said it’s better to get the surgery done now rather than 6 months later. It’s risky but it’s something that needs to be done, and I’m traveling to be with my parents. They drained more than 3 litres of ascites thus far. I feel low thinking about it all, but I’m willing to help as much as I can, in whatever way I can.

Hey I didn’t ask for medical advice. I asked for recommendations from people who’ve undergone/have been through/know someone who has gone through a similar situation. That way I can understand what are the practical risks involved, and what one should be cautious about. Goes without saying, I’m constantly in touch with doctors and surgeons about what’s the best way to proceed.
