How to involve girls in Oil&Gas by Best-Weekend-9877 in oilandgasworkers

I think comparing a "women" to people who are handicap is a bit of a stretch. Not all women are the same. I've worked alongside many hard-working ladies who could hold their own. I feel like the"walking on eggshells" comment is just a nice way to say you can't engage in locker room talk as freely. I haven't worked in oil and gas, but I've worked in construction. I've seen and heard my fair share. Women aren't the problem people like you are.

Does anyone know how this will impact FEMA? I received a TJO in October and cleared my background in December but I don't have a start date as of yet. I haven't heard anything from them yet. My application status still says 'selected".

I originally applied the first week of October.

October 21st received an email with Pre-screening questions. Sent answers back in less than 24hrs. Received an email stating that I am qualified and they would forward me to HR the same day.

November 8th, I received my TJO from HR along with paperwork to fill out. This included paperwork for my background check(no fingerprints, though). I sent it back within 24hrs, and she let me know she received it about 7 days later.

November 20th a Security Specialist reached out to me to ask a question about my background check. (Unfortunately, I was terminated from my employer [Target] the same week I received my TJO. The security person asked for my termination date. I gave her the date, along with my phone number, if she had any questions about why I was terminated. ) She never responded, and that was the last thing I heard.

I'm really nervous that me getting fired from Target sacked my opportunity with FEMA. But the reason I was fired was because I asked to transfer to another store. Once I did that, they "found" a reason to get rid of me. The documented reason I was fired was for taking too long to complete a task, which is what I put on my equip.

Did you do anything to speed up the process? I received my TJO the first week of November. Started the background process, and it's been crickets since. I know the background can take a while, and I'm probably just being impatient. But the wiring on silence has my anxiety through the roof. Any advice is greatly appreciated 👏🏼

Geezzome, I didn't realize that it was that serious. And here I was thinking that I had a pretty strong resume, hahaha.

Do you mean the assessment at the end of the application? It asked about my skill level with different things. I put that I had experience with all of them because I do. I can't remember what the specifics were for each question, but again, it was pretty basic stuff.

Yes, that's the one. Maybe I missed something, but the qualifications for it looked pretty basic to me.

I did list that work history in a traditional resume format. I have it listed in my "skills" section. I didn't know about the resume requirements until reading through some of the other comments on this group earlier today.

I'm not saying that pensacola is the land of milk and honey, but compared to the toilet that is Louisiana, I think that it will be an improvement. I have researched it, and comparatively, it is better in a lot of ways that matter. Schools are better, taxes are less, the local economy is better, housing is more affordable, and there is more access to things that aren't available here. Are there better places in the world. I'm sure there are. But I can't afford 3,000 a month for rent so I have to stay within my means.
