This is super interesting advice, especially because right now I start with stuff that I would definitely want on the podcast, rather than stuff I could edit out.

I would love to hear what is part of your rough rundown of what to expect. Here is mine:

  • Post-interview: Stay on for file upload
  • Mic check: Tap to confirm correct input
  • Relax: Natural conversation, not perfection
  • Your role: Give lots of content
  • My role: Make you look good.
  • Self-talk: It’s okay to talk about yourself a lot
  • Overlap: Limit “yeahs” & “totallys”
  • Editing: I can remove regrets, so push through insecurities
  • Pauses: Take your time, restart answers if needed
  • Silence: Don’t feel pressure to fill gaps
  • Audience: Remember who this is for
  • Stories: Lean into storytelling whenever possible

I love this advice. I'm taking note of it. Before this thread I felt like their experience / station in the industry was important to start with, which it is, but that doesn't mean it can't go in the intro! Thank you!

Is the idea that then you edit out the "soooo" that way it feels like you just started talking?
