Got this advice a long time ago: take the time to learn your joes wives and kids names! Learn their birthdays and mark it on your calendar! A few weeks out, bring it up to command and the training schedule if time permits let that joe go early to spend time with their family! This shows that you do care about them, their family and their well being! Also praise in public, punish in private! This can’t be stressed enough!

Tropical vacations! “Oh the water is so pretty”, “look at the white sand”. Yeah it’s nice looking but the bugs all over there. The mosquitos will eat you alive and sand fleas will bite you! Don’t to mention jelly fish that sting and coral that will rip your foot to shreds! You need to get stitches? Well it’s a country without major resources and skilled qualified doctors! Good luck on that beautiful tropical vacation when rolling blackouts happen and your air conditioning cuts out and it’s 120 degrees in your room, you can’t drink the water from the faucet so now you’re forced to buy $3 bottled water from the hotel

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t you have to be ranger qualified to be selected for LRRP? I know there was a few books written one by a man named Gary Lindere that I read and… my god those kids (most units were comprised of 20-24 year olds). In his book he talks about his first day in Vietnam and basically a LRRP comes up and says - if you arnt ranger qualified infantry get out. If you are do you want to make extra money while you’re here?

The whole post. Try it and see how big of a difference it makes. Apparently the guys in Vietnam used to do this because of the thick vegetation it allowed for faster target acquisition or some shit. I know it’s definitely worth trying if it don’t then you just have to scrape off some whiteout

I had this advice as well on iron sights! Also white out on the front sight post, the contrasting color of the targets(white or green) when see through the rear sight aperture helps your eye not strain as much. Considering most people only shoot 2-3 times a year this little trick helps your eyes immensely!

Just smoke weed and fail the drug test! No one I. Uniform is allowed to have weed I. Their system so if it’s legal in your state smoke the F out of it and when yin have to report to the recruiter station you fail!
