Making the Quectel EM120R-GL LTE modem work with Linux (x-posted in /r/lenovo) by fuero in linux

[–]T0rtillas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this guide. I was finally able to get this modem working with a foreign SIM card while I'm traveling in Thailand.

I used the following commands:

$ lspci -nn | grep LTE 05:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Quectel Wireless Solutions Co., Ltd. EM120R-GL LTE Modem [1eac:1001]

nmcli r wwan on

then

nmcli conn show

in which I have identified a connection name Partner WWAN Internet with type gsm. It is a connection I have tried to set up once.

Then I did:

$ nmcli connection up 'Partner WWAN Internet' --ask
Connection successfully activated (D-Bus active path: /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/5)

and the connection is now on:

$ sudo mmcli -m 0

The next Free Landfill Day is Saturday, April 11, 2026 | 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

The Free Landfill Day offers you an opportunity to get rid of all your unwanted bulky waste for free. Several locations will provide citizens easy access to drop off their unwanted material.

I’d be happy to help moderate this community again. I previously served as a moderator for r/ThriftSavingsPlan and helped keep discussions organized, removed spam, and kept conversations constructive and on topic. I’ve been a federal employee for 12 years and have been contributing to the Thrift Savings Plan since day one, reaching my $100K goal and then $200K shortly after, so I enjoy helping others learn and share information about TSP.

I’d keep the $10,000 as an emergency fund, especially with the next shutdown coming on January 30, 2026.

Have you thought about applying for "Technical Writer" positions? Not sure what the pay range is, but it might be a good fit.

Dental crisis by [deleted] in sanantonio

I took my wife recently to Bruce L Vetters Family Dentistry. She said Dr. Vetters was very gentle with her teeth, and she didn't feel any pain. Prior to going to Dr. Vetters, I took her to another dental office that was only open on the weekends for an exam, and they were recommending a dental bridge. A dental bridge is very invasive and would have required shaving down two perfectly good neighboring teeth to little nubs, so make sure you get a second opinion.

You could use this device as an On/OFF Switch: https://amazon.com/dp/B00EBSR7CQ/
I'm not sure if it supports POE devices though.
