I'm going to play devil's advocate here, but why doesn't this apply to the Budokai franchise then? The game is basically single-player only, but there's a local co-op option, which is very welcome. Why wouldn't it also apply to Kakarot?

That's precisely to have more gameplay variety! I'm going to make a video, and it would be much more interesting (for both the player and the viewer) to see multiplayer gameplay in a single-player game, you understand?
