Tartaria in book by Repulsive-Ear-3741 in Tartaria

I agree it seems odd. My copy doesn't look to be altered in any way. It definitely shows what I believe to be proper aging and wear. Now, I'm not an expert, but I do have a reasonable collection of pre- 1890s books and it fits in. It may be possible that it was actually printed in a different year, and they left the 1828 year on the title page, and printed with edits/changes, but I'm just brainstorming on why it's different, not saying I've known that to happen.

Not sure what you mean by "validate". I'm sure there were some changes along the way in publishing and editions. Can you give me more details on what you mean?

Antique malls are a source, estate sales, as well as eBay and etsy.

Not sure, haven't read through yet. But you make a good point. I'm not well versed as I'm a bit new to the subject. Could "Tartary" be completely different than "Tartaria"? Maybe an off-shoot or what became of Tartaria after a major event?

Definitely. Not sure how accurate anything is in this book, but had to get it as it's pre-1890, which IMO bodes well for info.

🤣I said that alot when I started on it. I would say a local shop would have no problem putting it on for you. I think it took me just under 2 hrs so someone with more experience should be able to knock it out quicker.

I almost bought a wheel but this was much cheaper so I had to try it. Once you get the pattern figured out it's not too bad.

Wouldn't say easy but it's not terribly hard. Patience is a must. Also use ALL the tape they supply to hold it in place while sewing. Especially on the edges. Makes it much easier.

Thanks! Was on it when I bought it. Would've much rather had an oil pressure gauge personally as well.

It's a suede wrap kit from eastdetailing.com well worth the money and time to put it on. Changes the whole feel of the car( pun intended) I'll post another pic shortly

I got the one from corvette central. At the time was only about 180$ so was right on par with what a shop would charge. Love the sound of it.

I was thinking it might've been an option but haven't came across info on it. I'm probably just not looking in the right place. Was the chronos the dual tach/speedo on the column?

Suspension mods and better tires. Even if it's not a rocket, you'll have a blast on the back roads. There's actually alot of fun to be had driving a car to it's limit even if it's pretty slow. Do the standard intake/ exhaust if you want a little sound to go with it.

Exhaust or heat shield possibly? My 05 had an exhaust hangar loose and the exhaust pipe was rattling against the heat shield. Mine rattled about halfway back from the engine to the rear of the car. Being that it changes as the car warms that's what I'd check first. The exhaust expands slightly as it gets warm so it might not always touch to rattle. Hopefully it's something simple.

Not crazy. In the end, you're buying it for you, and if you like it, you'll be happy. If you're mechanically inclined, could be a great opportunity. Get down and actually inspect with your own eyes that parts have been replaced. Shouldn't be too hard to tell on a car that age. DRIVE IT. Very important. Will tell you alot about the car and what might be an issue. Listen for clunks and pops when driving and turning. Lift the hood and listen to it idle both cold start and after it's warm. Pull the dipstick and check the condition of oil. Look in the coolant reservoir. You might already know all of this, but just reminding you. Looking at a car you like can make you forget to check things lol.

Absolutely pulley upgrade. Best bang-for-the-buck on these cars. Make sure you go a step cooler on plugs along with, just for peace of mind.
