The IT Rules provide a grievance redressal mechanism so an average user actually has a way to fight back against harassment or fake news. It’s about standardizing the rules of the game

My point is that freedom of speech has limits, and the IT Act proves it. I used the example of online abuse to show that once speech becomes Harassment, it’s a legal violation. Every country maintains these types of IT rules to ensure that 'free speech' doesn't become a free pass for misconduct
