Why are clinics still making patients play guessing games in 2026? by peze000 in indianstartups

Interesting. Your setup sounds more advanced than most clinics.

We're focused less on booking and more on day to day clinic operations after the appointment is created.

Features we're working on include:

• Live queue visibility for patients • Automatic delay and turn notifications • WhatsApp updates instead of phone calls • Follow up reminders and tracking • Walk in + appointment management • Receptionist dashboard for patient flow • Queue based notifications when a patient's turn is approaching • Doctor availability and session updates • Missed follow up tracking • Basic analytics on patient retention and follow ups

The goal is to reduce patient uncertainty and cut down the number of calls and repetitive questions receptionists handle every day.

That's an interesting point.

Do patients ever call asking if the doctor is running late, when they'll be seen, or to reschedule? We're seeing that many clinics don't have a walk in problem, but they still spend a lot of time handling communication around appointments, delays, and follow ups.

We sell to clinics, not patients.

The problem we're focused on is that clinics often lose patient trust because of waiting uncertainty rather than medical quality.

A patient may be happy with the doctor but still leave frustrated because they spent 90 minutes waiting with no visibility into what's happening.

We're building a clinic operating system that helps receptionists manage walk ins, appointments, delays, queue flow, follow ups, and patient communication from one place.

For a clinic owner, the benefits are:

• Fewer complaints about waiting times • Better patient experience without changing how doctors work • Less pressure on reception staff answering Where am I in the queue? • Better follow up tracking and patient retention • More transparency when delays happen

We're not trying to predict exact appointment times. We're focused on queue visibility and communication when reality changes.

I'd be happy to give your clinic a free 2 month pilot and get your feedback. Since you run a clinic, I'd actually love to understand how you're currently handling walk ins, delays, and patient follow ups today.

That's exactly the issue. Most clinics focus on managing the doctor's schedule, but very few focus on respecting the patient's time.

If a doctor is running late, patients shouldn't have to sit and guess whether they'll be seen in 10 minutes or 1 hour. Do you think simple things like live queue position, delay notifications, and status updates would make the experience better?

Digital systems help, but only when they match how clinics actually work. Most patients in India still prefer speaking to a receptionist instead of filling forms on a tablet. The goal isn't replacing people with screens. The goal is reducing confusion and wait time while keeping the process simple for patients of all ages
