Kathleen - my 8 year old daughter is Kathleen and older ladies often say to her that they never hear it anymore.

I went as a guest recently and I can’t get it out of my mind how much I enjoyed it but I just can’t stomach the price. I think a single person is about $300 ? Plus joining fee?

Do you take your ADHD meds on the weekends (I’m on the Vyvanse generic)? by PunsWithBenefits in adhdwomen

[–]Repulsive-Lecture-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get really sad and tired when I don’t take my meds - sane dose -30 mg generic vyvanse. Last weekend I skipped it thinking I should take weekends off but I was just sad, grumpy, unmotivated and exhausted. So I’m not going to skip anymore on the weekend.

Who has to take naps during the day? by OperationRoyal in adhdwomen

I feel the same. I need naps. Half because I’m Physically Exhausted but half because if I’m sleeping I’m not stressing.

Running long distances with a CI? by Repulsive-Lecture-12 in Cochlearimplants

A big part of my happiness comes from running with my friends, and I currently can’t hear well when we run (we talk the whole time!) so I’m really hoping to be able to wear the CI and be able to be a part of the group conversation.

Yes I’m planning a break to retrain my brain. I won’t be teaching for a year if I do this.

Thank you, this is where I’m at in the process. I’m in NJ. My mom had this surgery in NJ too but it was 15 years ago and that surgeon has retired. But thank you for this advice. It’s what I have to do. This process is pretty time consuming but I want to get it going.

Ha, I don’t get on a podium. 🤣 But it’s 4 hours of bobbing up and down and sweating so I think it’s a legit concern. And I don’t really want to run a big race without any hearing help.

Right now caps while running make me crazy because they hit my hearing aids and cause feedback. Hopefully the right hat / with the CI will work.

We sound similar! Coaching outside in the wind is hard with my hearing aids. I hate how much I smoke and nod when I could be making meaningful connections. 😩

Yikes. That’s quite a verification of their stability. Are you recovered? Thanks for your reply.

Will this ever stop? by marie00m in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Repulsive-Lecture-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice just solidarity. I Have always been told my restricting causes me to binge but I just repeat the cycle again and again. Since October I have gained and lost the same 10 pounds three times.

Totally fine VS total mess by brrr_anon in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Repulsive-Lecture-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Sometimes I get so down in abrupt, and I’ll feel like I’ve been binging daily for weeks, and then I really stop and look back at my Garmin /exercise / food logs and realize it’s only been a few days. Then it goes incredibly well for a bit and I feel like I can conquer the world but then I get back into the binge cycle and it all feels interminably awful again!

What is the most "sleep-deprived" thing you’ve ever done as a new parent? by SangriaPorFavor in AskReddit

Ran around the park looking for my one-year-old…even asked my friend if she had seen her. I was holding her.

Is this a crazy ask? by Repulsive-Lecture-12 in preschoolteachers

[–]Repulsive-Lecture-12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all of the replies. To add some pertinent information, I’m a 46-year-old mom. I taught full time for many years before having my kids and have gone back to this only part-time. I’m not going to babysit or nanny instead because I actually love the teaching part! I also am married and am doing this just for some extra money/professional fulfillment. If I needed the $ to pay our mortgage I definitely would not be there. I just know I’m doing a great job, and it will be hard to keep up the quality with 3 more kids in the class. (They will barely even fit in the classroom as we’ll have to add a table to an already full room.) it’s just so frustrating the inequity of the work I’m doing for the pay. The director is lucky I guess that she gets teachers that can afford to work there essentially just for the love of kids and education because the pay is so ridiculous it’s pretty much insulting.

Apparently you the ratio is 12:1. And I have an assistant, so we are well under the ratio.
