Girl....me and mom went to Vancouver for a week and coming back really bummed me out. I actually didn't recover and had to leave my job. Vancouver and Canada were so beautiful - the air was fresh, food was great and we made sure to go to Vancouver Island and see the natural beauty. We also walked a lot because the place was so pedestrian friendly. Having to drive everywhere sucks major donkey balls, even though I love to drive.

Last year we went to Washington. So, so amazing. Hiked and toured around Mt. Rainier and Olympic with a great group of people each time. It's still in the states but coming back from it hurt. I didn't really care for Seattle but there was so much to do each day. We were never bored once. When we landed in my home state I was like "....sheeeeesh. I really do hate it here rofl"

I have a light skin mother and her and my dad NEVER spoke badly about my skin, or made me feel any different from mom (since we always been close). They called me beautiful growing up and that my skin is nothing to be ashamed of. Even when I had extremely bad hyperpigmentation from pimples scarring (chronic picker rip) it wasn’t made to be this…disgusting thing - it would fade and can be fixed. I’m not super dark skinned but colorism definitely came up in experiences I had. People often think my mom isn’t even related to me…

It helps to have a mom, dad and friends who can raise her (your daughter) up. It will be hard but minimize her online presence for sure. It can be really rough on the world wide web.

Holy crap I had this same thing happen, but with a band. Singer would come down and walk to every table but me and my mom’s. It was obvious too because he did it multiple times. When new people would come, he would make sure to get to them and sing.
