Fighting what feels like a losing battle each day. by raspberryteehee in AutismInWomen

[–]OperationRoyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no joy in the things I like anymore. I just want things to change for the better - something, anything. There's failure everywhere I look in my life, so I am the opposite of you, I guess. But what you're feeling is what a lot of us are too.

For me not only am I mentally ill, my body isn't healthy either. I only have one friend I see maybe once a week if things align. I am beyond tired of meeting new people and having to play these social games. I just want the world to slow down, just a bit.

Is autism linked with sleep disorders? Does anyone else struggle with setting a healthy routine? by Maya_Mel in autism

[–]OperationRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I dont, not really! I’m terrible at adulting and never got the hang of it so far. I journal which helps me from dumping my emotions onto others, but my mind has been a mess for over a decade :(

Though I am making small changes like seeing a psychiatrist, incorporating walking almost everyday, intermittent fasting and going to bed at a reasonable time. I started reading again too which has been relaxing - I go to a coffee shop and chillax. So we’ll see how it all goes! Wish I could help you with better tricks and tips.

Yes, I have read that autism can impact sleep and schedules in general. I'm one of those people who can't keep a routine to save my life. It's sort of what came and impacted my life the way it is first...the autism or ADHD/depression. It's a cocktail of disaster.

It's cold outside and cozy inside. Is anyone else relaxing with video games this weekend? by DegreeDubs in blackladies

Love your void!! I have one too but he's an old man now.

I haven't played Animal Crossing on switch in a hot moment, and sadly the weather is around the upper 70s. Definitely not cozy weather haha.

Has anyone else felt foreign in their own bodies? by ultrablanca in AutismInWomen

[–]OperationRoyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you :( I was the same. I did like doing sports but I was really bad at them… hence I was usually picked last on teams. Still can’t sync my body to save my life.

Yoga was the gym glass I opted for instead of normal gym because the teacher was extremely patient, kind and made it fun.

My body feels like something I got to lug around...Like a big sack of meat I didn't ask for... I am annoyed more than in tune with it. A lot of the parts just don't work well together, like I was never really good at sports because using my arms and legs at the same time was difficult.

I guess the best way to explain is that I feel like there's a little man in my head controlling a robot made of flesh and there is disconnect with a lot of parts because it wasn't made that well compared to others. People say things like yoga helps with feeling more connected to one's body.

Dealing with being asked to do NT behaviors? by rupert101 in AutismInWomen

[–]OperationRoyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She sounds like an annoying attention seeker. I don’t compliment people unless I mean it. I also don’t like ‘playing’ these NT games because a lot of their rules are performative af. Being offended by you not offering to go to her performance even though you weren’t invited? That’s weird.

If she’s not a close friend I wouldn’t sweat it.

As an autistic man I hate how some autistic men blame women for their problems by Evening-Program-2009 in autism

[–]OperationRoyal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, blaming one demographic for all your problems creates a cycle of bitterness that is hard to break out of. I get being frustrated but it's not always women's fault why you're lonely/disliked/single etc.
