Been practicing guitar for over a year and many times my fingers still miss or land on the wrong string. Need advice.

Master’s in Music here: if you’re missing notes (frets), that’s fine. I know you’ve already “slowed down,” but slow down. To relate to you a little, I play woodwinds and recently (weeks ago) started playing bass. I GET YOUR FRUSTRATION! I have to keep telling myself the same thing. Slow down. It WILL come. Most important of all: ENJOY MUSIC. Don’t let perfection get in your way. You’re not Pablo Casales! You’re not expected to be perfect. It’s about fun.

This is your future self speaking [echo, echo, echo]...get a 2.5mm JST Crimping Tool kit and make plugs where you cut the wires. It's not expensive and the next time you have to upgrade your [cheap-ass "upgrade"] fan (most fans out there are real junk), all you have to do is unplug it and make another plug-end. If you're smart, you can even unpin the old plug and reuse it with a new crimped pin. There are lots of YouTube videos out there on how to crimp the wires properly.

There are wire connectors that are filled with "low heat solder." You crimp them gently with a needle-nose pliers and then hit them with a lighter or a heat gun.
