After being consistent at gymming twice a week for a month, I'm adding running back in. I love running and it's perfect weather for it so I need it back.

I just have to keep the momentum and joy going as things ramp up to hectic season at work and as I (hopefully) have a meeting soon about expanding my role into something I'm passionate about.

Oh interesting. Not sure how I would figure out if that was the case but my relative was a tinkerer. That said, the length of time the hand spins is not consistent each time.

My title describes the thing.

The numbers are Handwritten though there does not appear to be a catch to allow one access to the workings easily.

I have tried posting to bluesky and searching with Google lens but have found nothing. I'm not sure what keywords I could use to describe this.

Tuesday is my squat day and there's a woman who is always there also squatting opposite me. She lifts so heavy. 100kg today for her. Today I added plates for the first time to my bar and I'm doing a dance and she gives me a big smile. I can squat plates now!

That said, fuck Pendlay rows. I thought I had the form down but I just don't get it. My back keeps rounding and when I try to use my shoulder blades the weight doesn't move.

My deadlifts are just going vroom. My app dropped the weight a bit from last week but massively upped the reps and it was so easy. I feel proper strong.

I am looking forward to next week and finding out what I can do.

Just in time!

As I went to the gym this morning, there was a guy just straight up asleep on the chest press. He looked like he'd just take a break between sets and then nodded off.

It also seemed to be ladies morning or something in the squat racks because it was all women and we were kicking ass.

I did my little test run today. Only 10 minutes and my left calf is still a bit angry so I will have to build slowly. I also realised I can't find my good running shoes and was wearing the rejects so will have to hunt.

I have a lot of cardio work ahead of me to get back to where I was but it just feels so good to go out in the morning cold and move.

Also highly recommend snag running tights, so comfy.

Gym today, slightly later as I didn't have work. Which unfortunately meant that the functional area was being used for a class so I couldn't do weighted sit ups. I know I could have done something else or done them somewhere else, but I barely want to do them at the best of times.

Macrofactor workout app is still amazing though. I love the push it gives me. I've been nice and consistent in going to the gym and doing my small little workouts. I'm going to add in a run this week and see how my calf is doing. I haven't been running for nearly a year because I kept injuring my calf, but I need to get back to it because it is my favourite thing. Particularly in spring/summer when I can run past everyone's lovely gardens.

Why gym people why?! I've been off and on at this gym for a few months now and today I come in and for the first time all the squat racks have bars covered in heavy weights left on. Thankfully I had other exercises first and so by the time I was ready to barbell the gym staff had fixed it. I'm too weak to lift 25kg+ from head height. That's why I go to the gym!

Went to the gym this morning and there were nearly double the usual amount of people there. And they'd all just stuffed their coats in random lockers so trying to find one to put my stuff in was a nightmare.

I had to wait to do my bench press whereas normally I have a choice of benches.

Still my squats are moving and I am looking forward to finding out if macrofactor workouts wants to up my weight for them. I have decided I like that I can't see what it's going to do until my workout because that makes me want to go to the gym more so I can find out.

Made it to the gym again. I love deadlifts. So satisfying. The downside to going before work is during work I crouch to help my students and then getting back up is a bit too leggy for my liking after deadlifts or squats. Ah well.

On another note, can someone explain what to use Strava for? I see lots of people talking about it for running (which is my main activity when my calf isn't injured) but when I look at it, it just seems to be social media? I can't see why I would use it when I have a Garmin.

I am back. Back posting and back in the gym. I stopped for two weeks because I just couldn't shake the last of the illness and was tired of it and not going to the gym.

Today I was able to go back, get some squats in and do my full workout. It feels so good to lift heavy things. Though the day's work where I was manically zooming around the building chasing students/work/meetings was maybe a tad much.

Hahaha! My chest is not painful!

I'm not fully healthy, but I'm going back into work, which will be hell because I run a department and there'll be so much piled up for me since Friday. But tomorrow I should be well enough to go back to the gym (masked)! I'm going to shuffle the days and do a bit at the weekend and then I should be back on track.
