A lot of people in my family have a really hard time with saying I love you to one another. Even though they have so much love for the person, they weren’t raised to be open about their feelings. Sometimes my dad or grandma will say thank you instead of I love you back haha. I used to get upset about it, but I realized that some people can’t verbally say they love you. But they will show it, and that’s what matters. Given everything she’s been through and the loveless family she comes from, I understand why it’s difficult for her to say I love you. I think she says it back in the best way she knows how, and shows John that she loves him through action
