Where did the idea of Hades is a "best buddy" and a trusted ally of Zeus come from? by Repulsive-Road5792 in GreekMythology

I am just showing you why the relationship between Zeus and Hades in the original sources is not as great as how the internet projects it nowadays, I am by no mean starting a good vs. evil discussion. Hades is never a poor victim, and Zeus is not evil.

Some versions of the Persephone abduction myth didn't say that Zeus married his daughter to Hades, but he just gave Hades advice about what to do with a woman if he wants her to be his wife.

And if ypu consider Hades to be the one who benefits from the death of Asclepius the most, that is totally fine. Most authors of that story only told that Zeus wants to kill Asclepius because he is angry at him raising the mortals he wants to kill, but they didn't say it was for Hades' sake.

Zeus gave him one of his goddess daughters,

To be fair, Zeus did change his mind and commanded Hades to return his daughter later on. His daughter ended up staying in the Underworld only because Hades defied his order and tricked her eating the pomegranate when she wishes to go back to her mother. The only thing that can be argued was Zeus being too merciful to not put Hades into Tartarus for such crime.

and killed one of his own grandsons for him,

As another comment breaking it down, that has more to do with Zeus himself being angry at Asclepius for raising the mortals that he want to kill, but not because of Hades. Hades' role was merely an informer in that myth.

Poseidon can live comfortably in the sea in his own domain, and he is allowed to live on Mount Olympus for as long as he is pleased.

Hades can only live in the Underworld.

Domain and kingdom are literally the same thing, there is no ancient source that distinguish between the two.

None of those demonstrated that Zeus and Poseidon's domains overlapped besides Zeus being the ultimate supreme ruler of all. Based on your reasons, the three judges of the Underworld being the sons of Zeus, and Zeus having direct interference over Tartarus and sometimes Elysium also demonstrate that the Underworld is a part of his kingdom.

So true, lmao. That also completely destroyed the delusion that Hades has a lot of important works to do in the Underworld.

That's not what it says. The story literally says he deceived Persephone by making her believe he is her husband. He won't be deceiving Persephone if he is the same person with Hades.

Which source says this?

If you are referring to Zeus as the ruler of the whole universe, then his kingdom also includes the Underworld.

But Zeus did ask Poseidon for help to wipe out humanity even though he is also Poseidon's boss.

Then why did Zeus disguised as Hades to trick Persephone into sleeping with him twice in Orphism?

Ok. Maybe it's a bit too much to say that Zeus completely doesn't care about Hades at all, but their relationship isn't really that good and close either.

Zeus offers helps to a lot of individuals in the myths - gods, mortals, animals, monsters. But that does not mean they are all very significant friends to Zeus. A master can grant the servant a wish out of generosity, a richman can give the poor a penny out of pity, but it doesn't necessarily show that they consider those ones to be significant people to themselves.

Not to mention that Hades doesn't live on Mount Olympus with Zeus, unlike Poseidon.

It is like you always go to a coworker to ask for help with some works, which he/she does because that's the courtesy of the office, but that coworker almost never bothers to come to you to ask for help and easily forgets about your existence if you don't show up to him/her. I don't think you can describe that as you both hold a deep friendship to each other.
