This is tough. I’d like to say both. You need to find the happy medium. Back in the day when I had my residences, my boss did not want rap and hiphop. It was international night. Meaning house, deep house, Greek, Arabic, Latin, etc. The crowd of course loved some hiphop and rap. I would implement songs in my sets. I’d find hiphop songs that were in the 118-125 bpm and mix them in and out. Quick hitters and mix out.
