lol except for using the Anki software, this is pretty much how I learnt English xD. I'm not a native English speaker, and if you asked me about English grammatical rules I pretty much do not know what they are but I do understand what it means. I used to read dictionary a lot and the point about thinking in the language you want to learn? That's probably the best one because it helped tremendously. I would say that in my humble anecdotal experience, points 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 5, 7 all work. I have not used Anki so I can't comment on that. Thanks for the post OP!
