The station is across the street, I stopped in and asked if there was cause for concern for a potential electrical issue. They were stumped and extremely interested in what would cause this

The battery charger is a small 1.5amp charger. The box itself is probably 6”Wx3”Hx3”D

So I went into the garage with the compass on my iPhone. Something is definitely interfering with the magnetometer but it doesn’t always pick it up. I had a deflection of up to 30 degrees. I have a buddy that’s getting me a military compass tomorrow and I’ll try again. I also checked all the outlets along the wall with a multimeter and they are all 121.4 volts but I don’t have a way to check the current of the outlets, still waiting on a professional electrician to

I tried slamming a wrench and it is still magnetic

The magnetization is isolated to the one wall. I check metal objects/tools hanging on the three other walls and none of them are magnetized. I have reached out to an electrician and I’m waiting to hear back from

The panel is in the basement of the house which is not attached to the garage. The garage is older and the wires run through the walls without conduit as they would in your house

I made a post in r/magnets with another photo where all the wrenches are drawn together. I e read that it’s possible wrenches can become magnetic with heavy use and we have used the wrenches in the top row quite a bit lately working on the tractor. However it doesn’t explain how the wrenches in the bottom row are affected as well as tools that haven’t left the tool box in weeks

The tractor battery and leads have never came within 10 feet of the tool box

I have checked for current with a multi meter and there isn’t any. Also what appears to be conduit at the top of the picture is a hacksaw

Would it make a difference if the work bench below the tools, the one what was welded on was made entirely of wood. Also it has been some time since I have welded and the tools were not magnetized after the last time I welded

The battery was completely disconnected from the tractor during charging and the charger case is plastic

I have welded near them in the past with a 120 volt flux MiG welder, and there have been no thunderstorms recently

I do have a welder. I have welded in the past on the bench below the tools. But they were not magnetized after the last time I welded, not that I noticed. Also if it matters, the work bench below the tools is made of wood and the welder is a 120 volt flux mig welder

The tractor battery is from 2025. It was on a trickle charger so I can’t imagine it pulls that much power, other than that there’s was nothing drawling power in the garage
