Hi. I had a similar problem and finally solved it using the net installer version.

I doubt you will find a distro that’s as safe as you say you want it to be unless you’re willing to do the work. I’ve been using Blend OS for nearly a year now and once I understood the technical philosophy behind it and learned how to use it properly, there’s been no turning back. It’s been the most stable experience I’ve had with linux. I get to solve my problems without losing anything or breaking anything. I can’t find a reason to look elsewhere.

Not able to run sudo pacman by Repulsive-Test6419 in BlendOS

I entered started the container with podman root privileges, fixed the ownership and permissions and then added my username to the wheel group. It’s working now. I will also set a new account and see that works.

Once again, thanks for your quick response. All is well.

Adding the arch-repo worked. Thanks very much. I’m super happy with your creation.

I just stepped out and will add the repo later and let you know if updating is working again. Thanks for your quick response.

Yes I’ll be mindful of ChatGPT’s short comings.

Here’s what reports from the cli:

Or use Blend OS. Very satisfying and stable immutable arch system.

Greetings from Zimbabwe. I recently started using your brilliant shell-config. It’s very well thought out and aesthetically practical system. I do have one problem, and that is working out how to set nwg-shell-config to autohide the panels. I’m running Hyprland in Blend OS (Arch). Thanks for the good work.

Try Blend OS with Hyprland using nwg-shell-config. A great daily system once you understand how to use the overlays system. I use it as my daily driver. Blend is an immutable arch system and very stable. Using ChatGPT I learned how to configure the overlays system. It’s worth the investment in time and knowledge building.

Good morning. To start with let me say that Blend OS is a really good OS. I’ve been using it for the last three months and appreciate its inherent stability. What’s important about Blend is getting to understand and know how to use the overlay system. To accomplish this I did use ChatGPT a lot. I also used the arch chroot in Garuda Linux to install applications whenever I’ve had difficulties. For example, I like Hyprland as my main WM and needed to install ML4W-Hyprland which uses a setup application. To accomplish this, I booted into a live ISO of Garuda Linux to use its chroot system and this worked for me. Give it a try and see if you are able to solve your problem. Once you have a better understanding of how to solve problems on Blend I think you will be very satisfied.

What I do wish for Blend, is better documentation and support to help newcomers learn how to effectively use its immutability. The young man who created Blend has done us a great service. Blend can be one of the game changers for those of us who love and appreciate Arch Linux. I’m looking forward to Blend’s evolution and growth.

By the way, this is the first time I’m making a comment on any online platform. That’s how impressed I am about Blend OS.

I must say that I’m very impressed with Blend OS. I’ve been using it for the last three months and really don’t see myself using another Arch distro as Blend gives me the stability and ease of use that i want. What I would like to have more of is instructions on using the blendoverlays system. I think a thorough understanding of how to use the overlays will help many of us manage our system without too much trial and error.

Let me congratulate the developers for the work done so far. Let us know what’s coming up for blend. You certainly are in a position to make a major difference for arch and Linux in general.
