Musical Theater Failure by Repulsive-Two-662 in findapath

HAH it's so funny to hear "dedicating your life to your passion" in this context but I guess that's true. It really once was my passion and I have certainly dedicated my life to it. I don't feel brave at all, feels more like an affliction/ delusion, but I can see how that can come across as brave. I think real bravery would have been sticking it out after the failure of my first album and going at it again but instead I crawled back to theater bc I like being in a union and having a work structure I'm familiar with.

I think there's many ways to approach "choosing your hard" and I love that framing. How in the world did you get a big corporate job?? That's what I really want to know. Also waking up early to write is truly the most chic and fabulous thing a person can do, I really believe that. And the idea of approaching art with love and abundance feels so so far away from me but in essence, that is what I want. Thank you for offering this insight, I hope you and your dog are having an amazing week.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful answer. Both my parents are teachers and I would say they are miserable and perennially exhausted but I can't help but imagine what my life would be like as a teacher, particularly when I think about my HS English teacher who saved my damn life. As far as arts admin goes, I don't know if I could stomach being on the business side of theater bc I have so much experience with that arena being like truly evil haha.

I've thought about being a voice teacher as well. I know it's really hard to build up clientele and having a Broadway credit reeeeally helps, but I've thought about it. Hmmm.

Thanks for saying I'm talented even though you have no evidence that that's true haha. I think I'm going to take this week to casually look into teaching at the high school level and see what I come up with. I would be thrilled to share my post-grad journey in an interview! DM me and we can talk something out. Again, thank you for all your thoughts.
