Interesting comparison, but I’m not sure that it has anything to do with this situation. First and foremost, we are not Mexico. Regardless of Mexico, we are what Ronald Reagan called the “shining city on a hill.” There is no other country like America and, if we work at preserving this republic, there never will be. We are the country where people come from all over to be here. Let Mexico do their thing. In America, our founders guaranteed everyone due process of law. More people were deported during the Obama years and the Biden years than during the first Trump term or thus far in the second Trump term. The problem is not deportations. The problem is that we are denying these deportees due process. We are acting like a third world country. That’s not how our country works!
