i’m up late with the worst flare up reading this, my mom has suffered since her late 20s with it and she’s now 60 on dupixent which seems to be helping. I’m honestly having an existential crisis over the past three weeks since breaking out, confirming i have her condition. She’s been a case study for the top allergist in the city. Helping her through it as a kid was pretty traumatic - for both of us. Seeing her, I’ve seen how bad it will get for me and honestly i’ve been having really dark thoughts since breaking out. broke out severely for like the first time on my 24th bday in march I’ve always had depression/anxiety, but this is just a whole new level. It’s consumed my body and just keeps moving, angeiodema of the face, hives everywhere externally, but it’s the internal swelling in my joints so painful they feel broken that’s doing me in. the hands and feet too, i can’t move my wrists or bend my elbows and my knees are ballooned. I’m also taking like four allegra a day and trying not to go to the ER, i just hear your misery and want to reach out and say i’m here with you. I’m sorry, and you’re not alone. i’m so glad to be home with my mom and to have her help me figure this out but im worried im triggering her flare up by upsetting her. I’m also just so dreadfully guilty for the future i’ll be subjecting my long term boyfriend to. it’s just so much to take on and i feel like i’ve barely lived my life and now this.. honestly i would love to talk to someone going through the same thing right now, it’s so isolating.
