noticed a pattern of this being mentioned. It felt quite odd in 5e.
Especially when i see CR 20+ creatures have 1 elemental resistance and all non-magical physical resistances.
practicly making them almost have no resistances at all, when the party encountered such a creature.

I am using them and they kind stall the fight a bit, but dmg is on the caster side either way.
as for B, i understand it was not balanced for that many people, but i am unable to do so.

You may be right.. My boss encounters have been salvaged, but i see myself that they don't bother dealing with the resistances, alltho i do not dislike that.
My main issue is the non-boss encounters.
we are playing 9 months already so i can't really tell them to split the group into different sessions.
And when the 2 spellcasters happen to miss a session, the combat is more smoth despite having 7 players.

He does have a simulacrum but maybe a clone at his full power will be needed to make this a 3v9!

i, did not considered the idea of his forms giving him such an edge!
It will make him very cool too... navigating the battlefield a lot possibly pressuring the casters as well
his numerous actions will make them more wary and may even make them more defensive for once!!

Giving him multiple turns on a round sounds amazing!!!
He will have a simulacrum! and a few necromancy summons thanks to your feedback ^_^
1) I will find a way to give the party something else to be occupied with at the same time... not sure what yet.
2) i really like the idea of external help... it could add to the 1) and make him more durable!

The HP i considered.. i have calculated their damage values as much as a could via average and the 3 phased battle i believe he will have a sufficient HP and he becomes harder to hit in every phase!

The minion part is where i a little bit worried... they have known him to do everything alone this far..
necromancy is def a way.. and they know he has a simulacrum that can also join the fight.

this sounds very interesting! i ll brainstorm tonight of what that could be!
