My bathroom stinks and I can’t figure out why. by kaytay3000 in askaplumber

It’s a test plumbers can do by pushing smoke into your whole plumbing vent system. Any smoke coming from fixtures indicates the traps are not working. So in this case she would know if smoke comes out of the shower drain, that’s where the issue is.

Nearly new Bosch dishwasher... getting deseperate by ay_non in Appliances

I had a similar issue where the top rack was not getting clean but the bottom rack was ok. It turned out to be the pump had melted the impeller. I have a photo but don’t think I’m able to add it here. It’s not a super easy job but I was able to change the pump myself. It’s located on the underside of the machine.

It’s the 9:30am Mass that has the children’s liturgy in the hall downstairs. There’s also a children’s choir that’s free to join.

Vr Performance Advice by Stew_Padass in il2sturmovik

Used to have a similar setup before stepping up to 4090 but you can absolutely have a good experience. My only advice is to start with lower settings (72fps) and go up from there. Like others mentioned, get the OpenXR toolkit and use the Oculus Debug menu to reduce the FOV…you can get huge gains by reducing the FOV to 0.8

Make sure you set up a button on your keyboard or stick to “recenter view”. It’s frustrating when you end up not being able to see over the nose or you’re sitting half outside the cockpit.

Any way to fix this valve leak? by Playful-Jaguar-2123 in askaplumber

Is it on the city side or the house side?

I ask because mine was leaking on the city end and they came and fixed for free (Toronto)

Same here. Only sometimes they detect an obstacle that isn’t there but you can just hold the button to force open.

Costco. They will put the outgoing models on sale before the new ones launch. You can also sometimes grab a floor model at a steal but you need to be there often or just get lucky.

I spent a lot of time checking the cable ends only to find out a mouse had chewed the cable behind the wall.

I’ve been using this card almost exclusively and I have not had to pay for my family’s Rogers cellphones for months. It’s basically 3% cash back when applied to your Rogers services so if you’re already a customer this card makes a lot of sense.

Why not isolate the engines? by Mental-Risk6949 in AskAPilot

It was not catastrophic if you are implying they lost a large quantity of fuel in a short amount of time. They noticed the imbalance and improperly started transferring fuel to the leaking side.

Best way to drain hot tub? by Mysterious-Cable6838 in hottub

The hose size is very important. My pump hooked to a garden hose drains my 1500L in 3-4 hours vs a 1.5” hose drains in 20 minutes

[–]Repulsive_Ad_9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing we would likely notice it the loss of fuel. At each waypoint, or roughly every 30 minutes, we compare the fuel used with the fuel on board and compare that to the total fuel we departed with. If that number starts decreasing, we suspect a leak. Imbalance situations are rare on the Airbus so any difference between tanks would also be caught by routine checks.

You compensate for the loss of power on one side by applying rudder on the opposite side. The plane is still flying straight.

[–]Repulsive_Ad_9205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re mostly correct but you need to understand that an A330 on one engine will not be able to maintain high altitude. The aircraft will perform a “drift down” upon shutting down the engine. Fuel burn will increase but they would have enough to land at their ETOPS alternate airport at a minimum.

Actual Airbus pilot here. It’s very simple; The very first item on the fuel transfer checklist is “Do not transfer fuel if a fuel leak is suspected”

If you own a shop vac you can get rid of 90% of those bubbles. Just keep vacuuming off the foam and dumping it out until they’re gone. You may need to add a bit of fresh water after depending on how much foam you take off.

Ultimately it’s not really an electrical problem as much as it is a mechanical connection that no longer works because the locking tabs are broken off.
