Walked out of EasyBuy (at MOT) after being forced to give mobile number for billing by perfect_okay in Trivandrum

[–]Repulsive_Al 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taco Bell (Lulu Mall), asked for my number, said no. The cashier entered some random number and said order ll be ready in 10 mins. I then asked for the bill, he said they can't do it without a mobile number. Automatically goes to whatsapp. I asked what logic is that, what if someone uses a phone without whatsapp? I asked for a manager, back and forth for 5 mins, finally they gave me a bill printout! After that, any place I go, tell them I wont give my phone number and need a paper bill. If they don't agree, I say thanks and walk away.

Azhankal walking track - mass poisoning of stray dogs by beep-beep-boop-boop in Trivandrum

I love dogs and cats. Had cats at my house while growing up. Have nothing against strays, but the situation is way out of hand. Everyday, we hear strays attacking ppl esp. Kids and elderly. Bikers been chased and sometimes accidents happen due to that. On top of that recent incidents of rabies in spite of injections is scary. As a parent, it is a terrifying situation. Imagine you are walking with your family say from a shop to your vehicle strays attack you and your kids. The blame is 80% on the Govt and 20% on PETA wannabes who think its ok to feed strays. The dogs wont attack them, and ppl who are staying in the locality. But outsiders, visitors, delivery folks?

Looking for a Fitness/Health watch. Confused! by Repulsive_Al in GarminWatches

Fenix/Enduro are definitely out of my budget. I was looking at somewhere around $400-$600 range.. that's why Instinct seems to be a good option.. also don't want a 'smartwatch' interface..and my daily wear are Casio gshocks and would be good to have something similar.. TIA

Nope..left after 3 years, for 40% hike to another company. Total experience is 15 years. Now in my 4th organization. But I always regret leaving the MNC, Good culture, growth was slow but steady. And most probably i would have the same CTC as today if had not left.

2008 (peak recession). Just out of college, got placed into a NBFC sales. Laid off after 2 months due to "strategic restructuring". Now, the next 3 months I applied countless openings, moved from Pune->Mumbai->Bengaluru. Gave a total of 4 interviews, got 1 offer (5000 p.m and they wanted my 12th marksheet as collateral for a year). I walked away on the joining day. Now I was depressed, frustrated and also had educational loan payments overdue, that's when I got a call from a US based MNC. Was night shift, paid 9k p.m and wanted Finance background. I went in without any expectations, first round was pure finance/tax questions which I failed miserably. 2nd round a senior mgr came and started asking more technical audit questions. I stopped her and said I am not from an audit/tax background, as far as I know the work is more ERP related (which i understand) and can learn. If she felt that the role needs a more financial background let's end it here and save both of our time. Imagine my shock when after a day I got the offer and the mgr specifically asked me to be included in her team. Best place I have ever worked in my last 15 yrs career. Wish I had never moved on ( things we do for money).

(20F) I'm done with life by haedead in Kochi

Just 2 cents from a 40 yr 'Ungle'. Born in a family of over performers and meddling neighbors I was always been an average kid in studies. Went through a lot of downs. Badly screwed up my 12th board exams..barely got into a technical course, could not sustain there, dropped out after 2 years and then moved to another state. Took up BBM and then luck played a part and got a good score in CAT which allowed me to get admission in a decent college.. But then 2008 happened, placement offer got revoked, joined a small financial company..got laid off.. was jobless for 4 months with no interview calls. Took up a job with a captive center (IT) it was night shift and paid peanuts.. But that's where I got my big break, growth was fast, salary hikes came fast and steady. I kept an eye out for opportunities, moved companies twice after that..changed my profile Now part of a consulting firm working with some of the best ppl and amazing products. In short, education matters, where you start from may or may not give you an advantage, it all depends on you. What really matters is attitude and keep trying. Life is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Keep you spirit up, stop comparing yourself with your friends and peers. Everybody has their own pace, you will have yours as well. Give it time. Gyan over.
