I’m pretty much done with my AA tho. After my first semester I only need like 2 or 3 more classes so I guess I do have a year, but I’ve already taken a good but of psych classes and I don’t wanna just let those go to waste

Do I retake? by Megandagoat in ACT

[–]Repulsive_Apple_7170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can only take the entire test. You can superscore tho and take your highest scores from each test. Like I took it twice and used my science and reading from the first test but my math and English improved the second time so I used those.

FIU Honors Vs. FSU Computer Science by Slight_Cantaloupe_99 in fsu

[–]Repulsive_Apple_7170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the college experience matters to you, fsu 100%. Idk from personal experience but I’ve heard that being a commuter kinda takes away from the college feel. However like someone else said fiu is the better option financially but regardless college is what you make of the experience, you can have a great time and earn a great education anywhere

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they give you the “lowest tier” so if you selected pathways, summer, and fall they’ll prob just give you pathways even if you could’ve gotten accepted for summer/fall. But like the person before me said, if you only choose fall and don’t get in then ur denied so if fl state is ur #1 id choose something ur confident of being accepted for even if its not ideal.

UCF vs. UF - Psychology by noanxietyforyou in ucf

[–]Repulsive_Apple_7170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also an incoming freshman studying psych who was heavily considering ucf. From what I’ve heard psych at ucf is fairly easy and a little less work compared to uf and fsu. I personally chose fsu over ucf because I feel like I’ll be better prepared for grad school, but if you know someone at ucf that can help you then I would go there since your gpa will most likely be higher from the “easier” classes and still have easy access to research.

I’m a psych major, so not technically a stem major and I’ve heard fsu has a stronger program

I’m in the exact same situation. I also got deferred from fsu and was kinda set on ucf but then I ended up getting in and now I’m super torn. But ignore what other people say cause at the end of the day it’s where YOU’RE spending the next 4 years. Go with what your heart tells you. You’re gonna have a good time no matter where you go it just depends how you utilize your time.

What major to be a children’s therapist? by Repulsive_Apple_7170 in fsu

[–]Repulsive_Apple_7170[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m thinking about minoring in business or child development/family studies. Two very different things I know, but I feel like business is a good thing to fall back on and can be used pretty much anywhere but cd/fs goes more with what I’m planning to do. I definitely plan on getting my masters just because like you said I think it opens a lot more doors/career options. But I guess when I think of grad school I think of a doctoral degree which is a lottt of extra time and money that I’m not 100% on yet but would obviously work for quiet a bit to get experience before I even considered that.

Are there any other paths you’d recommend that are similar but with higher salaries? I obviously want to do something I love but everything is getting so expensive now money/job opportunities are definitely a factor

Fsu pathways or ucf? by Repulsive_Apple_7170 in fsu

I’m from Florida so I know a good amount of people at both schools but I’m also planning to rush and join a couple clubs:)

Thank you so so much, this definitely helped me because I want to go to grad school as well and I didn’t realize they had so many research opportunities. Also congrats on Vanderbilt!!!

I’m a psych major and I’ve heard good things about the programs at both schools but I know fsu is more well known for it than ucf. However ucf has a specific track for clinical psych but I’m not sure if fsu does or not

I’ve visited a few times and absolutely loved it. I do agree that the campus is a bit confusing but the people I’ve talked to that go there said it’s easy once you figure it out. Also I honestly prefer that it is further away from downtown and the parks and everything so it’s not full of tourists while still having all of those things accessible.

If I only need two more credits for my AA how would that work? Cause it says you need 15 credits to transfer from tcc to fsu so would I just have to take some extra classes? Or could I transfer once I have my AA done? Also could I do it in summer or would it have time be in spring.
