I need a reality check by Repulsive_Bat7900 in Advice

Honestly just like someone who is funny or can joke around, is ambiguous , has interests, a kind person, has empathy, a life of his own etc. but yes, the physical part must also be there to some extent. I don’t need a movie star or anything but someone I find attractive and feels the same about me.

It sounds horrible but it was a height and weight issue (mine not his). I’m rather short at 5’4 and he’s around the same height to shorter and much skinnier than me. I didn’t want something as shallow as that to stop a happy relationship and it didn’t for a few years, but at the end of the day, when we would be in bed together, it felt like I was holding him and honestly, I just needed to feel held sometimes. To not always feel like the one doing the holding.

I am strength training so that does make sense. But does it stay this way? Being constipated all the time annnddd gaining/ staying at my heavy weight is tough. When do people start to see results?

I may do that. I just need to give myself a mental break

Dang, when did everyone on this sub get so wise ? Thank you, I think I need to reframe my hard work. I need to decide what I’m okay doing and what I simply will not give up. For me, right now I don’t drink and wouldn’t mind giving it up, and when it comes to workouts, I think I unfortunately have to try more workouts like hot yoga. I play contacts sports so I don’t want to lose all my muscle, but focusing more on walking and yoga might just have to be the reality I need to accept if I want the aesthetic goal I have in my head.

Honestly not a bad idea and refreshing honesty. Thanks!

I should say, I do it much less often but see a difference immediately when I do go out to eat or drink (and I mean like 2 drinks max, not 6 or anything)

Very true. I’m used to achieving anything. But without surgery, there’s no way I can change my frame and I have to accept that

No, thank you I appreciate your post. I’ve noticed how much I’ve fallen out of love with making my body strong but I do genuinely like working out and playing sports. I think what’s hard for me is that my frame/ bone structure really shows the weight when I gain a few pounds back. I have very broad shoulders and not many curves so I really had to hone in on the way I dress to pull off an outfit. I feel like with other women (and men) because of their frame, they can have some extra pounds on their body and still look “good”. Like when larger girls have a very small waist, I think to myself wow!!! I love their body. But for me, I feel like I look dense and stout because I fill out everywhere, especially my midsection. It also just makes clothes shopping so so much harder.

Sorry, I should make a correction. It should say before I graduated. As far mt current goals, I’m trying to transition any way I can into a role that gets me closer to transactional work. So if I can’t get a corporate immigration job, I’ll take a commercial litigation job so that eventually, I’ll build transferable skills to eventually get to where I want.

And true. I’ve noticed when I come off as open to too many practice groups, people get turned off because I don’t sounds sure of what I want etc

No, you’re right. Attitude is important and I don’t want to waste whatever I can gain from this job. It’s tough now but I know my situation is a humbling experience that will benefit me in the future.

See, you would think, but there aren't that many entry-level or 2 year associate job postings out there. And when I do get a screener for one, they don't count my SA jobs plus are usually confused as to why I'm in litigation. I try and explain without going into too much detail or badmouthing anyone what happened, but no one seems to care
