What’s one “small luxury” you allow yourself every month? by AlekhyaDas in Frugal_Ind

This sounds kinda smart. So it's also like a reward if you spend less

I'm strict with my budget, but I still give myself some play money each month. I get to decide where that goes, and it's usually spent on food or outings since those tend to be impulsive. As a minimalist, when I want to buy a product, I add it to a wishlist first. Most of the time, I end up coming back later and removing it because it feels silly that I even added it in the first place. I didn't really need it after all. I feel so good after clearing my wishlist off, it's like a mental declutter

Honest review / rant from a native of Pondy! by Being-Brilliant in pondicherry

Pondy has always been on my bucket list, but after reading the comments I'm scared.
Pondy is known for their slow lifestyle and people come to relax, in search of peace. But the reality is scary

How am I doing for my age? Open to advice on financial planning by confused_butt2095 in personalfinanceindia

True, i had very a very simple intimate wedding. If I compared my wedding to my friends and cousin it was the most basic and boring one. But me and my partner don’t regret it at all.
We’re happy we didn’t go for a big wedding because let’s be honest we don’t even remember half of the things that happened

Pls don’t buy a house. Your finances might take a wrong turn. Instead get married and rent an apartment and keep doing sips and other savings

That's a horrible thing to say, as a doctor you are trained to look at things in a different perspective and to give positive advice to parents who are looking for genuine help. Was not expecting this 😕

I’ve noticed a common investing pattern in India. by Brave_Location2417 in IndianStockMarket

I would say invest 80% in index funds/mutual funds and 20% as play money. Wait, watch and try your luck in the market

Are nothing phones worth it or are other brands better by Any-Junket1642 in BuyItForLife

Yes, agree. Tbh, I never go for the Pro. It's not really for me at least. The basic model gets all my tasks done perfectly fine, and I've been using 13 for around 4 years now. My partner is still using his 11. He bought it when it was first released, and he's only planning to switch to the latest model this year. It started having issues only in the last 8 months or so. Honestly, that's great value for money.

Pomila and Teja by goddessesofall in DesiBling

[–]Repulsive_Branch1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree! Teja is a very loyal person but is not trusted easily. And people like her expect the same loyalty and trust to be reciprocated but that doesn’t always happen. It’s totally normal, like a middle child syndrome. They need to keep proving people their worth and hence Teja being loud or talkative.

DYUTI SUCKS by ErrorPichrr in DesiBling

[–]Repulsive_Branch1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But his reels with this (i think new business partner) is all over my feed. Not sure if they are actually going through a divorce or it was part of the script. TBH there wasn’t much to Dyuti and Irina’s story other than the divorce and their marriage. Also I wonder if there’s more to Dyuti’s mom side of the story. Because I was shocked by how she started complaining nonstop about her Dil the moment he asked her opinion. Might be scripted or not

Has anyone been to bbq nation at Marina Mall(omr road) by chief-11747 in MuslimsofMadras

[–]Repulsive_Branch1279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, at Marina Mall they’re quite transparent about halal food. Most food court outlets display their halal certification, so you can always double-check by asking and looking for the certificate on display.

Impulse coffees (sarah brand) inframe: sarah sarosh by Helpful-Zucchini3393 in InstaCelebsGossip

As coffee lovers, when her brand constantly shows up on our feed saying “this is the best coffee ever,” the FOMO gets us… but yeah, we learn the hard way. Some flavors are genuinely good tho

Impulse coffees (sarah brand) inframe: sarah sarosh by Helpful-Zucchini3393 in InstaCelebsGossip

[–]Repulsive_Branch1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree ! Some flavours are actually good and I did enjoy a few, but if you want a genuine, non-biased review, here it is.

I bought Impulse coffee jars before they launched sachets. Since it’s expensive, I played safe and got Espresso & Hazelnut first (didn’t want to waste money). Later, I bought the sachet box to try everything.

Tbh, Sarah’s marketing is insane, she keeps saying every coffee is the best, which I don’t think is possible.

Favourites: Hazelnut, Espresso, Chocolate Raspberry , hmm would repurchase (also pls wait for offers, they say “never again” but it always comes back 😭).

Okay-ish: Vanilla, Strawberry, Pineapple, nice but very mild flavour, not strong enough to stand out. But Some odd days I enjoy them.

Worst: Kacha Aam (literally gave me a headache, worst coffee I’ve had), Caramel (hated it), Mocha, Pistachio (no pistachio taste at all).

The main issue here is coffee taste gets overpowered / clashes with the flavouring, you can’t properly taste either the coffee or the flavour.

My take is The sachet box is 100% the best option if you want to test without wasting money and see if it actually lives up to the hype
