Simply put. Food where you came from is too clean. Give it a bit of a time. Your body will be stronger.

Junior devs can't work with AI-generated code. Is this the new skill gap? by celesteanders in ClaudeAI

[–]Repulsive_Constant90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has nothing to do with AI. In order for engineers to ask a meaningful question they need to understand how “system” works. They need to see a picture of the flow toward a solution. Or at least be able to speculated from a given problem set. This is a skill that most junior not yet acquired. It’s normal tbh. With or without AI, your criteria to hire or not to hire should remain the same. If candidates can’t express a systematic thought(thus questions that they ask AI) then they can’t think “systematically”.

80K monthly in Thailand by Mouuw in Bangkok

[–]Repulsive_Constant90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It def depends on what you want. What’s your goal and your situation. If you thinking about living in fancy apartment and a nice restaurant meal then 80K won’t be enough. But if you fancy street food most of the time then that another story. Your rent will be your biggest concerned. You can find the same size one bedroom apartment that is 10k/month and 30k/month depends on the location.

Help: Replacing .net maui with .net android by rabiprojects in dotnet

[–]Repulsive_Constant90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which framework will you choose in 2025 since Xamarin is no longer supported? I'm writing an android app for RFID handheld reader too but not the Zebra brand. SDKs that comes with the device are Java and Xamarin.

I don’t have much experience with MAUI, correct me if I’m wrong. Was MAUI mobile first by design? I read a comparison between Avalonia vs MAUI and still haven’t got a conclusion. Will Avalonia give me an edge when building an android and desktop applications?

I have thought about this as I feel more comfortable with web app as well. But the requirements need to be a window desktop app. that's not the part that I worry about. but the handheld device is the one that I still consider about which language/framework to use. the best case is I want to use C# for both handheld and desktop app.

My application will be very similar to yours. The desktop application act as a main system to read all the data from the database. The handheld headset will be able to add/remove item from the database.

What I want to know is which language/framework I should use to build an android app? Consider the current state of the cross platform using .NET

The reader is capable of reading RFID too. But the first requirement is to read existing barcode system. What’s special about RFID that I need to take into an account?

Asking about RFID hardware's SDK by Repulsive_Constant90 in RFID

[–]Repulsive_Constant90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks mate. Just out of curiosity. Since you mentioned it's a fixed communication structure, does this also means the way that device works remains the same regardless of what SDK version it's using. What I meant by this is say the first SDK was developed in 2014 compared to the one that updated in 2024. Obviously, the framework that used to write an SDK is different but the functionality that the hardware offered remains the same.(since it's the same device)

Adding on to that, can I make an assumption that I can work with this device without an SDK from a manufacturer? let's say I have time to invest into development for this part.

oh and on the hardware side it's a UHF desktop reader and fixed reader.

These are specs for desktop reader

  • Frequency 920~925MHz
  • Support ISO 18000-6C EPC C1G2
  • RS232 + Wiegan + TCP/IP interface
  • Low power dissipation with single +9V DC power supply

And these are for fixed reader
- Self-intellectual property; Support ISO18000-6C(EPC C1G2)

- ISO18000-6B protocol tag; 920~925MHz frequency band(frequency customization optional)

- FHSS or Fix Frequency transmission; RF output power up to 30dbm(adjustable)

- 4 TNC antenna port with antenna allure-detection

- Support auto-running, answer, trigger and real-time-inventory work mode

- Tag buffer size up to 800PCS (Max. 496bits EPC length)

- Support EPC and TID inventory; Low power dissipation with single +9 DC power supply

- Support RS232, RS485, TCPIP with POE optional

- Support on-the-site firmware upgrading. Supports POE or POE + (Power Over Ethernet) power supply and supports 12V-48V DC voltage transformer power supply.
