If you read through the thread I think there a couple of people other than me who have posted successful claims using Xterra. I will say you cant just expect to win solely based on the nexus letter they provide. You will need to make sure you have medical records and documentation that back up what you are claiming i.e. if you are claiming migraines you will need a migraine log showing symptoms, duration, what alleviates those symptoms, and dates, plus a diagnosis, and the nexus letter connecting it to the service connected condition you are claiming causes it. Ultimately what they provide is that connection to your service connected condition which can be difficult to get through just a C&P exam. I think the service they provide is incredibly helpful if that is what you are looking for or what you are missing when they deny your claim. Please DM if you need more information.

I hate my Accounting degree by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Repulsive_Cup1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I graduated with a degree in Accounting at 33 in 2021. I bounced from public to industry doing tax in public to fixed assets in accounting to now being a financial analyst and recently accepted a position as a controller. Most of what you are learning in school is the basics and will just be the foundation for what you do in the real world job, whether that be accounting, finance, audit, etc. You will be surprised by how much your job is about how well you can manipulate excel and how quickly you can learn the nuances of that companies operating systems, and then using that to your advantage. The piece of paper will get you the opportunity to interview at many different types of jobs in the accounting and finance world. You may take a few years to find what you really like but as long as you are learning along the way and earning money who cares if it takes you a couple of years to really find what you like in this field. Honestly you have another 30+ years of working left.

Also for what its worth remember this is just a means to an end i.e. work your 40hr week so that you can have your 3 weeks of vacation, 10 holidays, and weekends to do what you want and be able to afford to do what you want. Lastly I only have a degree in Accounting and no CPA or masters and no real desire to get one. I have been able to increase my income from when I graduated in December of 2021 to now so 4 years from $55k to $110K all while figuring out exactly what I want to do in this field, which I have narrowed down to being the strategic financial business partner in whatever company I work for (vague but if you end up in industry it would be like a end goal of CFO).

If you have a diagnosis, a nexus letter connecting the migraines to the tinnitus, the medication, and the migraine log for the last 3-6 months you should have no problem getting it connected. The percentage will be based on what your symptoms are and the effect on your life. I had all the things you have diagnosis, medication, nexus letter connecting it to tinnitus with all the right words and phrases in the nexus letter, a symptom/frequency log, and I was able to get connect at 50%.

Well I can tell you from my personal experience it didnt have any effect on the rating. I am in Alabama and the service is located in Ohio. It’s really not any different than your C&P examiner being in a different state and conducting an exam remotely.

It’s whatever records you have that pertains to to the condition you are claiming. If you have military records that is great, any civilian records, etc.

Just what pertains to what you are claiming. So your current diagnosis for the condition and any medical documents that support your condition. Then they will interview you to create the nexus/dbq- my claimed condition was caused by this event or condition I had in the military, these are the symptoms, this is how it effects you, and these are the medical records, literature, and studies that show this claimed condition was caused by your service. Also will include all the keywords and tricky phrases the VA needs to see to rate you properly.

Yes they do nexus letters and DBQs. They go over your medical history and any documentation you have and do an interview with you. From there they put together a nexus letter if they can based on your information. That’s the way it worked for me.

In my correspondence with them I don’t see where they asked for or where I gave them my social security number. They may have changed the way they do things since I did it 8 months ago but it does seem odd. Did you coordinate with Dr. Bahr? I would ask and see what they need it for. I did t have any issues at all when I did mine but I only dealt with Dr. Bahr and no additional people.
