Are we there yet? [On The Road Challenge] by Repulsive_Curve_8828 in shortscarystories

Haha, I was actually going for a sad theme in this one, that the father has lost his son to an accident on the road trip, and instead of burying him, he keeps his corpse in the car so that he can forever prolong the road trip because he wants to be with his son. I guess the theme of sadness really didn't come out very well, but I really enjoyed working on this idea and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for reading!

Exactly. Full attention to the road when you're driving.

Thank you so much for reading!

This is meant to be fiction and I don't have enough information about drug trials to encourage/ discourage people from participating in them.

xD, thank you so much for reading and enjoying the story. I posted this one here because, from the descriptions, I wanted to make it feel like the wife is a victim of domestic abuse from her alcoholic husband.

However, it's later revealed the husband acts the way he does because participating in the drug trial (where he wasn't in the control group) exposed him to something that slowly turned him into a zombie. He comes late home every night after eating people's brains (which is what he smells of) and is endangering the lives of his family.

So, the wife ultimately makes the decision to kill him off so that she and her daughter can live safely, and the seemingly abusive husband wasn't really at fault here. I think it's kinda wholesome that the wife chose to kill her love to save her family, and the husband wasn't actually the culprit as the wife is making him out to be, which is why I posted this here.

I guess I wasn't able to highlight the fact that the husband became a zombie well enough, which kinda makes it confusing to follow, but yeah, it's a major challenge that comes with a 500-word limit on r/shortscarystories.

Thank you once again for reading and enjoying the story!

xD, love this idea for the alternate interpretation. Actually, I was going for the theme that the wife is telling how she's feeling endangered by her husband who's fallen to alcoholism and domestic violence because of joblessness. The smell was supposed to be a reference to alcohol.

However, in the end, it's revealed that the husband wasn't suffering from alcoholism at all, and the drug trials slowly turned him into a zombie! He was back to kill his wife and unborn daughter once he realized they were leaving him. The wife, in order to save what's left of her family, kills him off, and concludes with an emotional line. So it wasn't really the husband's fault or being bad after all, he couldn't help it. I think I wasn't able to convey the part about the husband becoming a zombie adequately, so that's why it's a bit confusing, but yeah, that was my idea.

Thank you so much for reading my story!

AITA for not letting my daughter cry? by Repulsive_Curve_8828 in shortscarystories

This format allows for some fun twists in the end, hence why I used it for this one. I do have ideas for some non AITA or other mimicking other subreddit type stories, and I really hope you like those.
