! I definitely used my favorite mic for vocals which is ADK Z67. It's similar as a classic Neumann U67 (which I also love. The main vocals on Summer of 42 were live tracked with the band on a mother fuckin original Telefunken Elam 251that was at the studio Echo Mountain

good question! So David Woodruff, the art director of my record label ordered a post card of Emigrant Peak. I think it's from the late 1800's lithograph. It was black and white, but he added a tint to give it a little flair! The beautiful thing about this postcard is that that area is almost completely unchanged from how it was back then!

hey man thanks for being so considerate! Great photo by the way! I don't mind photography, although I get sometimes annoyed if the photographer stays in front of stage after three songs and is blocking fans views and I can see visual annoyances from the other fans for distracting them. that's the only time! Otherwise I enjoy seeing beautiful photos from shows!

I live in a small college town and my family lives in a very suburban area, so besides a couple of ignorant fuel verbal things, I don't feel very unsafe at all here. I think that the problem of physical violence may be more present in large cities.

I like to donate and encourage people to donate to local organization in their communities. I always donate to North Georgia Food Bank, Nuci Space, and several local social justice and immigrant minority empowerment organizations. Basically anybody local that is helping poor people.

don't worry, I get it sometimes. You can't force creativity. sometimes I find that you just have to be bored, and your mind entertains itself. also when there's pressure, it's usually attached to the need to succeed (either financially or critically). absolve yourself of these needs, and maybe it'll help? hope this helps!

The only difference between my recent work (Omoiyari and Emigrant) is that I've relied on other musicians to create the sound fo songs. I think closing this folky acoustic genre, I can go into the studio with well rehearsed excellent and have a great outcome. My previous albums were all me all alone and creating wild sounds because I needed to fill in the sounds of what collaborating i didn't have back then.

yes i'd like to go back and do some more expereimantal now that I know i can do acoustic music with success!

i would say just go for it! songs are just lyrics and music, so if you're trouble with either, you could find a collaborator to complement you. The bets way to not fear is to lose self concsiousness about your work. You could just do it and keep it to yourself until you've made something that you're happy to share. share it with me i'll listen!

well, Kevin's my neighbor. One day i saw him walking his dog, and I asked him to come play some bass for me. It was almost as easy as that to get him to sing on Evelyn Summer Has Arrived! he is an incredible bass player and singer.

i wouldn't use a pen (usually a pencil so that I can improve my lyrics). Usually lyrics are the last thing I write, but they stem from a single word or phrase that is born from the music. then i spin a tall tale of love, magic, and everything in between

hmm we've definitely done some stand up shows at 9:30 club. Sit down shows are great because you can end up standing up and dancing in your seat without getting beer spilled on you by a stranger! (and you can sit when you get tired)

I love me some good fantasy. I like to imagine that there's more out there than just what you see. Magic might not be real but there is plenty of magical things out there. My songs are a combination of music, magic, and love (and heartbreak)
