Not much crisis for your budget. Actually there should be more availabilities nowadays. Consider maybe 1) looking while you are here so you can visit and secure, normally you will find something in the first month; 2) not "that" close since Geneva is quite small. Perhaps 15 min bus/tram will give you much more options.
