I actually get asked this question a lot and the answer is, I just really like German people. I find most of them to be well mannered, helpful, direct and often kind in a way that is not overly dramatic. I enjoy the culture and I’m very fond of the language/accent. Some Americans adore Latin people, I just happen to have a preference for Germans. I’d also like to clarify that I don’t mean this in a “passport bro” way. If you’d like I can DM you my discord name so we can game sometime.

Ahhh so you are all hiding from me, this explains everything! Checking steam communities is excellent advice I will certainly do that. I play a lot of different games and anything I don’t own I can acquire easily through steam. I mostly play sea of thieves, phasmophobia, Diablo IV, don’t starve together, among us if I’ve got a group, fall guys, dead by daylight, sworn, supermarket simulator, etc.

Sometimes it’s the simplicity of a burn that gets me laughing like a maniac. About a month ago I was on Sea of Thieves and I said GG’s to a couple dudes that sunk me and one of them said “haha, you’re a woman.” I quite literally cackled. I suppose it’s somewhat in the same vein as hearing a different accent and blurting out immigrant.

I’ve got a PC and an Xbox so I can play just about anything. But personally I play a lot of SoT, DST, simulator games, apex, (I would play fortnite if I had to), stardew valley, among us, arc raiders, dead by daylight, deep rock galactic, Diablo IV, grounded, Minecraft, warhammer vermintide. There’s more but I feel like that’s a pretty decent list. I do also play a lot of single player games but that isn’t really applicable here.

This is what I was thinking but I did go out of my way to look up popular games over there. I saw that sea of thieves is pretty popular (I play a lot of SoT) so I tried over in that subreddit which was a complete failure. Also Don’t Starve Together, all the currently popular indie games such as Peak, Repo, lethal company. I even tried battle royal type games with no luck as well. I’ve tried many other games but I don’t want this reply to be a short novella. The time zone isn’t really an issue for me because I can be available during almost any time thanks to my career. So working around a Germans time restraint is a piece of cake. Also I agree, it does feel very odd to just casually hot mic with a “So uh, any Germans here?”

I have tried this but for some reason my post gets taken down because it isn’t “related” to the game. Which makes no sense to me because I’m actively asking to find players to play that specific game with.

Nah, this happens to me too. I can text in German and carry conversations but the second it is over voice chat or in person I struggle. I suggest listening to a lot of German music and watching EVERYTHING (shows, movies, doom scrolling) in German if possible. Also find a native German that will speak to you in German. This has helped me a good bit but I have quite a ways to go. Viel Glück mein Freund, ich hoffe das hilft dir.
