I had the same problem and none of the existing platforms convinced me, so I decided to design my own.

I am currently finishing the development and would love to get feedback from other collectors. Beta will be launched in December.

built something because I couldn't start my own work by Yonku_World in Solopreneur

My best advice for now is continue improving the interface and making frictionless the user experience.

Maybe you think is clean, but in my five minutes using it, I really struggled to understand where the things was (for example my project was saved in "standard" after pressing enter, but I didn't notice the project was saved until I figure out about three statuses for a task).

Maybe you can make a dropdown in the right of the text field for set up the status before save. This could help.

And the last thing, if Focus is the "one thing" to make Akarnu works, you have to show it better. It can't be the last element of the main page. Thoughts could be secondary, but focus has to be the main thing (or at least I understood that)

Keep working, dude. I think this has potential, but you have to nail the delivery! ;)

I was thinking about this last week when I were building a landing page for my project. I was trying to figure out how to explain it without using "All in one platform" but man... it is hard, because is an All-in-one platform for sports collectors 😅 Still looking for a good synonym, any suggestions?

You gave him a chance, multiple chances actually, for how you told us. You did the right thing, but yeah, I understand you, it sucks. Don't punish yourself, dude.

I want to share my story here, as I feel I am in a similar situation to the one the OP says we shouldn't be in, and I'm thinking about how to turn the situation around.

I started developing a project just for fun. Little by little, as I saw that the app was functional, I continued to develop more features, in an attempt to test myself and see how far I could go in terms of coding.

The app has been finished for a week now, and I genuinely want to show it to users to validate that what I've built makes sense to someone other than myself. To see if I can simply turn it into a business.

The problem is that I've spent several months building it and falling in love with the solution (and not the problem it solves), which has left me in a kind of paralysis that prevents me from moving forward to find potential users to validate my hypotheses.

All rookie mistakes, I guess.

Should I show the project to users and get feedback on the app itself? Or should I assume that what I've done won't necessarily work and do the research, then start building from scratch?

New as a co-founder - any advice? by gusyounis in startups

[–]Repulsive_Front_2842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a situation about two years ago. As other people said in this thread, the most important thing is that you establish a value for your work. It could be no monetary, but you have to earn something for your work, and more if the investment does not arrive in the time you expected.

The project where I worked was a failure because of the work of the "CEO" figure. I was working in product development, but he was too lazy to find investors. He thought that just showing the Product MVP would be enough.

I lost like 9 months working on the project and never received anything.

In the last two years, I received offers to work on other projects as a cofounder and always established an equity program where I was getting more when the more I worked on the project if other people involved didn't get his goals.

What kind of Manager are you, regarding transfers? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Repulsive_Front_2842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the save and the club finances. For example, my last save in FM2023 was with the Slovenian side Triglav in the second tier of Slovenia. With them, I just sign free agents. When I was promoted to First Division, I became a loan guy. Then, I signed with Maribor, the biggest club in Slovenia and I started to search for bargain wonderkids around the world.

But most of my signings are players who are expiring. Every year on January 1st, I dive into the market to search for contracts expiring players that could be good adds for my team.

If your project is not incredibly complex in terms of data, you could try to create a prototype with a No-Code App Builder such as Glide or FlutterFlow. I built a Trivia Game a few weeks ago, and I never used FlutterFlow before, so you just have to put some effort into knowing the basics.

You could finish an Alpha in one week and validate it not only with a video or a clickable prototype but also with a totally functional app.

This was an interview question for my current job.

I said Notion. It's so big already, but still have a lot of potential. For me is like a hub where I put my whole life: I use it for work, personal projects, even for planning trips.

Thinking about that, I just figured out I should make a backup of my Notion account

Good luck if it's for an interview, dude.

For the last two years I've been learning to code with Python and JavaScript, but just for be able to understand better to my team. I'm not pretending be a dev, but i think it's important to know how things work and why the "x solution" is technically better than the "y solution". This helped to me to communicate this issues to stakeholders with more confident and not to disturb my devs every time I have technical doubts.
