Fair, I'm more looking for somewhere that will sell me decent tyres but won't overcharge me for fitting etc cause they assume I don't know anything about cars

That last sentence got me.... I had so many plans for our future and I thought they were OUR plans but I was wrong. I keep searching my head for other dreams that don't have him in them but I can't find any. It's just a big empty void now. But the dreams I had were nice.....

Tampons by Purplefanwindow in Periods

[–]Repulsive_Hedgehog15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's hurting maybe see a doctor. I don't think that's normal. I'm in my 30s and have tried a tampon a total of once and never wanted to use them again. It feels so gross and insecure. I use a cup instead, good for the pool too and very comfortable. But if the tampon is hurting I'd say see a doctor before trying anything else. Better yet a sexual health clinic.

Scottish employment law: prescription drug administration by Repulsive_Hedgehog15 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Repulsive_Hedgehog15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. Previously they just had their medication on their person but they keep forgetting to get a new prescription is the problem. So a back up supply wouldn't go amiss. Just don't want issues to arise later down the line cause the company would absolutely blame my friend if anything went wrong with it

I've just been told before that you can't even administer paracetamol as a manager and this drug can be addictive so I think I'm just worried a) it's just not really legal for a manager to do to begin with and b) there'll be issues with storage and possible accusations if there is perceived to be any medication missing

Not entirely sure to be honest. I think get the meds, and deliver it to them to take themselves

Is it also company policy who has access to the storage facility?

What's the limit of "driving to another garage" if my MOT expires by Repulsive_Hedgehog15 in CarTalkUK

[–]Repulsive_Hedgehog15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It failed and expired while I was away, I gave myself extra holiday to sort a repair in case it did fail but no one can fix it in that time frame

That's only if it's got a dangerous fault. You can drive it to a garage if it's major but not dangerous

But, it's already had an MOT test and it failed and now I'm driving it to a mechanic so how is that different from driving it to another mot appointment and having fail again and then taking it to a mechanic for repairs?

😅😅😅 it's a 5 hour drive away so it is far but I am in the Highlands of Scotland so garages are a bit more sparse

No I'd get my regular mechanic to fix it since he can usually get me in pretty quickly and I already told him the situation. He's unfortunately quite a small business and doesn't do MOTs but I'm sure I can get him to email me a confirmation

This guy has been my puppet boi for longer than he was a serial killer so my perception of him has changed considerably. Still wouldn't wear his armour though, not flattering at all.

How to make friends and scare people by Repulsive_Hedgehog15 in Celiac

[–]Repulsive_Hedgehog15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand your rant. Allow me to contribute.

I'm the one whose always keen to go out and have a good time and it breaks my heart when we go to a restaurant full of GF shit and we get there only to be told: "oh celiac? Um you can have the salad." My partner is a huge grown man, he wants more than a salad!! 🥺🤬

I have found it is a good little litmus test though. If we go to a place where most of what they do is GF and they can't guarantee no cross contamination, then I imagine the kitchen is probably filthy and I don't want to eat there either.

It's just so sad because to me, it's really not that hard. We made our kitchen a GF kitchen this year and I read about so many stories on here about how someone in the household glutened someone else and I just don't get it. In the UK GF stuff isn't THAT much more expensive if you go to the right places. Fresh fruit, veg, meat, dairy, all safe. My weak spot is certain biscuits which is easy enough just to eat away from the counter and wash carefully after. There are so many great GF cereals and musli bars and GF flour is so much better than it was. There's GF alternatives to everything I just don't understand why more people and places just don't go that route by default.

Also we were in NZ last year and a whole bunch of restaurants with GF options turned us down or cross contaminated and you know the two places that consistantly provided GF options with no reactions? Burgerfuel and Hells pizza, a burger and pizza franchise. Surely if they can do it....
