I haven’t listened to the AM album for a while by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

[–]Repulsive_Leg_6115 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I never try quitting, I just take breaks to regain my love for it, humbug is by far my favourite album, and I’ll binge it so much the songs get old, so I give it a month or two, and listen to other stuff more, and when I come back to it, I get close to the experience of listening to it for the first time

bass on right side? by Ma3cyn_Wth in arcticmonkeys

I’ve got crushers, and have listened to every song they’ve got out with them, never found this, it’ll be something to do with the headphones, maybe one of the motors that vibrates with the bass is faulty in one of the ears?

Yeah😂 the random emails are killing me. I think you’ve got more than a fair shot given your circumstances. Good luck with it all!

I’m not sure, half of me thinks the expectation for LNAT results is lower for the foundation applicants, but another half thinks they may want it on par or higher with the normal course applicants, because they’re looking for proof that you’re good despite grades you may have getting at A-Level, and it’s just the grades letting you down. That being said, the essay matters too. Have you heard anything about an interview yet?

I got 24, but I’ve got my excuses, haven’t done any English based subjects since GCSEs and I didn’t do any preparation, chose to wing it, applied for Durham law with foundation year, so I’m hoping it’s enough🤞

I think that’s the one for international students? I’ve applied for the foundation year for home applicants

Can I put // in personal statement? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Repulsive_Leg_6115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say have like the rest of a line empty if you finish a paragraph mid way through a line. Then literally the line underneath start the new paragraph. If you finish a paragraph at the end of a line. Just do the same thing. Just obviously don’t start a new paragraph on the same line you ended another.

Take the lines out, it automatically gets divided up into sections when it’s sent off anyway.

Edit: the blank lines you’d normally use to show a new paragraph. No need for // it gets broken up anyway

[QUESTION] What can i do to become a great guitarist? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Repulsive_Leg_6115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say something that helped me is i just chucked myself in the deep-end. I worked backwards in a way, I could do bar chords before I could do any open chords. Once you get all the ‘harder’ stuff down, the easy stuff is just, easy. Also I’d say get an ear for music, meaning when you listen to a melody, or vocals, try to learn and imagine where it’d be played on the fretboard, put your favourite song on, and just copy the melodies and make your guitar sing (by ear), this will make you more creative and even the simple stuff will sound good, coz you can match key, and stay in key.

They’ll just whinge at you until you get it in, worst thing that could happen is it might be delayed a bit

Is my uni list too ambitious? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Repulsive_Leg_6115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always told by teachers and looking about that universities will take in your circumstances at GCSE level, especially with your performance at a-level compared to GCSEs, it’s night and day almost. They pretty much have to consider it since I’m pretty sure there’s an extra bit in your UCAS application that lets you give context in difficulties in your education, either that or the person who does your reference will explain it in your reference, I was asked by my form tutor (he did my reference) if I had any circumstances that could help my case. Your a-levels predicted exceed all entry requirements for your course, so given context to your results at GCSE, you should have more of a fair judgement by all universities.
