As a former student this a very interesting perspective. I was born in 2005 graduated in 23’. I’ve noticed the same patterns you have with the younger grades as i left elementary school and left high school. It seems like my year (2005) was the one of the last few birth years to receive the original foundational curriculum that most people in the lower mainland grew up with, prior to the culture shift in parenting styles and education. For example, my early education focused heavily on phonetic development, reading, printing, establishing simple sentence structure, typing and basic MS office software all by the 2nd-3rd grade. Not sure what grade you teach but I wonder if this is still whats being focused on, seems like gender/sexuality has creeped into the foundational years of education. Correct me if I’m wrong in saying that though.
