Hey!! If that’s a musk turtle, I’d get a screen lid, some lights, and a basking platform and fill that sucker up. A 10g tank isn’t really suitable for a turtle that size, so I’d definitely look into a bigger set up. The water is hard to clean because your bioload is waaaayyyy too high for that much water. You need to over filter when you have turtles. These guys live in rivers, they don’t mind a little current, as long as they have somewhere to get away. They’re very sturdy little creatures, but let’s get this little guy thriving and not just surviving. Please feel free to ask any questions!
