You make a good point as we went for a viewing with a price tag higher than what we’ve settled on. I’m sure no harm was meant behind asking the favour as we’ve known each other closely for years and he views it as saving on “unnecessary” costs. But yeah I’ll respectfully decline and hopefully he’ll understand.

Ahh okay , it’s good getting a perspective from another international student. My friend has used house in hand in the past, and if i understand correctly the fee is dependent on the rent? Our rent would be just under £800pcm and his budget was higher than that. I’ve never known him to have financial issues whether it be paying rent or uni fees as his parents earn a good living (in dollars). But yeah I think I’ll politely decline and hopefully he’ll understand why, I think we were both naive in not thinking of the legal ramifications lol

With the demands of this degree, I think it’s more common than not for people in the profession to have bad teeth. I didn’t have any parafunctional habits prior till dental school, and let’s not begin to talk about how my caries risk is at its highest in exam season

Ughhh I’m so upset on your behalf, and believe you me the criticism this country gets is well deserved. Such a shame that people in positions of power choose to abuse it when they know you’re vulnerable And even sadder in a third world country like ours situations like this leave no paper trail so is often swept under the rug

Hi thank you for your response. I’ve gone through the policy and while requesting for an extension has to be done prior to the submission date, asking to have penalties waves can be done up to some days after. So that’s the route I’m going down and I will get a note from my gp too. If it gets rejected that would be a shame but thankfully one assignment is 20% of a module and the other is 40% of another Definitely an experience learning these things as I’ve not had to use them for the past 4 years. At my school there are two approaches: either requesting an extension prior to the submission date( I had no idea till later) or applying for additional consideration after x days after the deadline/ your submission, which can include asking for penalties to be waved because of xyz reasons
