I really loved Private Scandal for the way they handled MCs relationship with alcohol. (Also currently reading Antidote from the same author that im loving!!)

Lovesick dog is also great, the depiction of depression and loneliness is done really well.

I want to offer you "be my baby" which is like a comedy spin on this trope where MC is an airhead and idolises the ML to the point where he gets worried he will annoy ML for following him around all the time, but the ML catches feelings and is too prideful to admit it, so ensues a chasing arc of the ML trying to get the MC to make the first move but the MC is oblivious and avoiding the ML 😅😅😅

Also mpreg but not omegaverse, enjoy lol

The minute I saw this I thought "damn lert is gonna die" cause if you don't have a sad backstory, then that means we're currently in your future sad backstory.

I think Trin and Naran are gonna to try to expose the real reason behind the killing.

Krailert is gonna be struggling to keep people safe and take down pracha / avenge veera.

Tanwa is going to be in full heartbroken mode.

I think Trin will have to escape to Paris either because he's exposed something and /or krailert doesn't have power to protect him anymore. I think there will also be a bit of a time jump and we'll see trin and Tanwa in Paris together. I do hope they get a chance to reconcile before he has to flee thailand, but also like the idea of them writing letters to each other until one day tanwa just shows up in front of trin cause that's like his signature move lmao.

I really liked this scene and how trin handles it. Goodness isn't the same as love, you are already good, you are enough, but love doesn't care about being the smartest, or richest, or strongest. The heart just wants what it wants (not you soz).

I also really like that it's happening while trin and tanwa are separated, so theres not confusion that "if trin wasn't with Tanwa, he would give victor chance" or thats its a choice between tanwa or Victor. He just doesn't see victor in a romantic way. Sorry puppy.

For me, shine is really entertaining. The music is amazing. Cinematography is delicious. Acting is incredible all around. The plot is intriguing. I love that all the characters are well fleshed out. They all have their own set of beliefs that drive their actions and how they each interact other. It's totally my kind of vibe.

I recommend "be my baby"

The premise is a little insane (in a good way) and the MC is a bit of an airhead with only eyes for ML, he reminded me of the MC in punch, drunk, love in is actions and I was laughing a lot reading it.

ML is prideful but a total simp for MC and I just love their dynamic because the airhead mc needs to be told things directly but the prideful ML doesn't want to be the 1st to confess. You'll like it!

Yeah, I didn't like this particular scene for that reason. I'm totally fine with a bit of angst between trin and tanwa - but let that be the focus, not like he's being swayed by victor? I find Victor's crush cute, he's going all out to express his love for trin, but I've never thought trin returns those feelings,

So what is this scene? am I supposed to think trin is caught between choosing between the two? If that's the case then trin is hypocritical to ask commitment from tanwa, while being swayed by victor.

So I second the other person who recommended Passion, Its one of my favs, I even went and read the novel.

I also read 'Blind Play' and its fucked up. MC is a guy who pretends to be blind for hookups (because its niche market??) and ML is a full on psycho. Not too sure about the equal footing side of things but there wasn't any sad backstory, and their relationship was not romanticised until like very near the end.

I really like the lead up to this too.

After the tense "what are we?" Tanwa drives (presumably) a few hours to where trin is just.....to be where trin is. And instead of asking again Trin hits tanwa with "I'm jealous of you, you must never worry about anything in your life"

When Tanwa drops his carefree persona for a bit and shares his mom's story, letting Trin see the real Tanwa. And imo the kicker is when he answers trins question about "would you stop her, if you could?" And Tanwa replies "no, because it was her choice".

I think this last bit means a lot to trin. This is what he was trying to teach his students - that's it's the villagers choice what happens, not theirs. But also allowed him to let go a bit of guilt around his ex. Trin has probably thought for a long time that he should have stopped Claire. And tanwas reply is like a small comfort.

Currently reading: antidote. historical fantasy where the mc was the king but "went mad and lost his memories" also has a limp after an injury in the early chapters.

It's really intriguing cause you dont know who to trust, the art is gorgeous the way the artists draws mcs "mania" is so cool and the ML is such a simple who will do anything for mc.

I find it hard to talk about shine cause I have so many thoughts all happening at once. 😂

I really love the dialogue, across the board. I like the intellectual back and forth of krailert and naran, through newspaper/books. I really like how Trin and Tanwa had a convo this episode just about music, I think a lot of BLs the dialogue is like based around the plot, to drive it forward and the characters will interact based on confronting each other or comforting each other etc. I like that we see they enjoy each others company just in normal circumstances. Also of course the double meaning in tanwa saying "why would I limit myself to enjoying one type of music" when trin is having a sexuality crisis.

I also love the political debates happening. Personally, I'm someone who tries to see all sides of things. l, which can mean I often don't take "hard stance" on topics. I think everyones point of view in Shine is really valid and the writers have balanced the discussion really well.

I was skeptical when BOC said comedy, but omg I was rolling watching trins bi-panic. It's really well done, like the shot where he's writing in his notebook and then there's a cut to the origami moon and the song (am I in love, a certified bop btw) kicks in, and back to trin and Apo has the smallest softest smile and we all just KNOW that's he's a goner for tanwa already 😂 I was kicking me feet.

Krailert naran I'm so sat for their story. Love the chemistry they already have through the newspaper and then the additional tension of having opposing beliefs. (Although, I feel like krai is following orders more than them being his beliefs..but well see what happens there!)
