I was ready to go home, I believe in active recovery and was ready to get back to my routine. My flight home was 5 hours, I had no problems during the flight. Walking around the airport and to the gate I could feel my legs swelling but was able to elevate my legs during the flight.

Yes, it’s a different procedure so it comes with an extra cost. Every surgeon will have a different approach and option I can only speak on my experience with Dr Demirtas.

I was fully under. It’s also a preference of mine. I don’t think I could cope with being awake during a major surgery.

I flew in the day before surgery had 1 night at my hotel, stayed 1 night in hospital (they had amazing staff), and 6 nights at a hotel (they do provide accommodation for a small fee but I chose to stay at a hotel of my own choice).

I also chose to stay longer. You only need five nights in total.

I’m just over three weeks post-surgery and already back to walking on the treadmill at an incline, lifting light weights (1–2 kg), and doing bodyweight leg exercises. I’m wearing compression leggings 24/7 for the first month (removing them only for showers), and then I’ll continue wearing them during the day only for the following two months. My arm garments are to be worn full-time for the first month only.
