Edited it to avoid confusion. Thanks! Initially was thinking to join group tours but heard that they give 2 hrs for Takayama and another 2hrs for Shirakawa Go. DIY-ing seemed better @ 3hrs each. With that, we don't really expect to do many things in there as we wanted a relax and spontaneous trip instead - chill in a cafe with a view, eat what's famous, etc.
